We're hanging in. Yes there are errors but we're still taking the game on. You have to be impressed.

Am i seeing things? No goal in the last 30 - 60 seconds of quarters?

Legs legs legs.

Do we have them?

So, it appears after that last quarter, dropping the ball is fine.

Take the game on Dees, you can do it

Win or lose, this is the most entertaining footy I've seen us play for 2-3 seasons.

Saying that, (censored) I hope we win.

Latrelle will sleep well tonight

he is cooked

Our 1-2m handballs in close have been putrid today. And I am so sick and tired of seeing Saints forward of the ball, unopposed and free.

But boy, with ball in hand we are seriously having a crack.

Langdon and Sharp will be very important in the last quarter with their fitness and running.

We are clearly lacking big bodies around the stoppage. Rivers , Steele , Sparrow underwhelming.

I hope Langford, Windsor and Lindsay show something but they are still young.

Probably holding Culley back due to his arm but we need him in there for sure. Our stoppage setups are worrying - we seem to collapse in way too quickly.

All in all we aren’t as bad as I thought we’d be , kicking more goals at the cost of letting more through is something a little different.

If this is how our games are going to be this year, it’s going to be both exciting, and one of the reasons I’m going to need to see my doc more frequently.

Any danger of a free kick??

Forgotten how much umpires make mistakes.

15 to 7 in favor of saints.

No way that was a mark. Great effort but no control.

Sharp has only played 40% ToG so I'm not sure what's going on there.

Great kick by Steele.

Nice finish Maxy!

i was not confident there at all but maxy slotted it beatifully

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
