GAMEDAY: Rd 01 vs St. Kilda

It's not perfect, buts it's fast, fun and competitive. Roo and Checkers are a great pair.

Lindsay and Langford need to get involved

Its not perfect but I'm seeing a recognisable brand that the players have bought into. Goals from our key forwards is a nice change too.

Van rooyens confidence would be sky high. This is what we've been waiting for from him.

I don't know whose been working with him over the pre season but well done

At least we are playing the a game that is following lead trends.

My username is popular today 🤪

Everyone seems to be chanting it

About 5 times at my count

Well so far we’re doing exactly what Kingy said we’d do. Feel like I’ve watched an entire season of highlights and it’s HT of the first game. Still it’s just 61-59 so the game style isn’t perfect, but it’s sure as heck fun to watch!

Jiath looks better than I was expecting, has made generally sound decisions. Culley looks nothing like a SPP selection. Mihocek isn’t such an annoying [censored] anymore - some good some bad.

Lever is done. Caught lightning in a bottle in 2021 and forever grateful for it, but outside of that season he’s been a huge disappointment for mine.

Lots to like, backline not so much. Getting cut up by their smalls especially. Where's Nev Jetta when you need him?

Checkers is such a team oriented forward. Playing for the team and helping protect Roo so much already, great to see.

First game fumbles to be expected, lots of positives, lots to work on but to be completely honest, this is the most I’ve enjoyed watching us play for quite a few years. I don’t have a lump in my throat, haha

️Windsor

️JVR

️Gawn

Jiath 👍🏻

Lots of others are doing their job

X lever. Cost us 4 goals in 1st half

X sharp ? Fumbles x4 - pick it up

X Kolt on NAS. No idea how to tag or cover in congestion. And Kolt miss from 25 metre out 🤢

Need to clean up out goal kicking outside Roo. lots of straight forward shots on goals missed by other players.

Salem has been working on him. The crew-cut that is. He looks menacing. It's a 3 goal handicap on the opposition

JVR reminds me of someone with his strut, after racking my brain it came to me. Mark Jackson

Latrelle (minus that amazing goal - well done), Langford, Lindsay, Sparrow, Langdon, Sharp all done bugger all

If those guys turn up in the 2nd half we may be on

Lot's to work on, but geeze if this is what we can expect this year it's going to be fun!

Windsor back to his best!!

Tholstrup tag isn’t working, need a change here.

I think we look better, will we have the legs?

Wowee have the saints overpaid for this. Lot of $$ for a team that looks 7th-10th.

Roo coming into his body as a 22yo key forward. Some good and bad from the rest, no one flawless but we’re taking it up to these pretenders.

May we see more whinging and pointing fingers from Nas and co in the second half.

Saw the best and worst of Tholstrup in that half.

10 touches at 80% but seems to miss the mark at key moments.

I would say let's get Roo on the website reacting to a Jacko highlight vid, but I wouldn't want that loony to come out of the woodwork and go near the club haha

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
