Chuck in free dog training and I reckon he will sign.

I hear he has chosen Prodigy- smack my [censored] up, as his goal song

Lots of Demonland would have subbed him at half time of the 2021 grandfinal for James Jordon, such is their lack of respect for our best forward of the last 5 or 6 years

Hope he lands a supermaxx extension

Really ?? 🤔

Agree

The lack of respect always irritates me

106 goals 44 behinds in 2 seasons in 21-22 and has been consistent over his whole career. As a medium fwd they are unbelievable numbers.

Then the horrible inside 50 entries, long bombs and very wide kicks and he doesn’t look so good. If we don’t offer him a very good contract he will smash it at a Hawthorn for example

A keeper

3 years and then perhaps two.

He could easily go until 34/35 with his ability to find space. Just have to give him good supply.

Needs to recover his accuracy (not alone). He was a deadeye if IRC in his earlier years.

Love the optimism @3KZ is Football but I'll take 50 from the Fritta.

Others have already Mentioned it, but I think he will benefit greatly from a fast moving gameplan. It all depends where King wants to play him, deadly accurate when he is "in the zone"

Must sign. A nice 3 year deal gets it done. Has the tools and role to play 3-4 more years at least.

Agree, on a 3-year deal but these seem to be the ones where we extend further to retain, and we know how they generally work for us.
Quality game breaker who, on limited evidence, appears to have found a new energy in 2026. Pay him fair overs for the market on a 3-year deal with a performance trigger for a 4th. If his manager holds us over a barrel for 4+ year commitment, then we need to let him walk.

I look at Jack Gunston who is still performing incredibly well at 34 years of age.

Fritsch is only 29, i wouldn't be surprised if its a 4 year deal. Plenty of good years still left in him.

I’m sorry, I’m unfamiliar with this revision of history.

Seems to be made of straw.

He was excellent in that game.

He needs to do more now that we don’t have bulls in the midfield getting him silver service. Transition off the HB is again - where the game is won and lost - he needs to be better

Thanks GS, but I’d already made the wise decision to not engage in this discussion. I’m currently having a hard time dealing with elements of this forum, namely the bullying, which never fully goes away but at times is too much for me to handle. This is one such time.

Ghostwriter please keep up the great work you do. I always enjoy reading your great contributions you make.

+1

Should’ve won the Norm Smith over the cook.

How the heck do you not take the medal home after kicking 6.

He was largely responsible for our comfortable quarter time lead and then kicked the two goals that saved us from another GF loss (after 88 and 00).

Did they? I don't recall this at all and I was glued to the thread that night.

Taking off our match/season leading goalkicker at half time in a forward line that was functioning like broccoli for a tagger wouldn't have made a lick of sense even to the extreme sceptics here.

I, like the great majority here, love your work Ghostwriter. This site would be diminished without your humorous, insightful and passionate input. The connections you have made are part of the MFC fabric. Stay strong and be yourself!

The one true goalkicker on our list - absolutely must be retained. A three year deal will be plenty.

Quicker ball movement and a more open forward line will see him back to his best this year.

The amount of criticism bay bay gets is off the charts, and everybody that criticizes him should be ashamed of themselves

I raised an eyebrow at that one, too.

"Look, Bayley, we know you've kicked 14 goals in your last four games, and even your defensive efforts have been going well since Brown and McDonald have both been available and the structure is all set, but what we desperately need right now is to find a spark, an avenue to goal of some sort, to capitalise on our plan to have our midfield guns all fresh in the 3rd quarter to seize momentum, so we're taking you out and bringing in a tagger."

Personally I'm hoping Fritta sticks around Gunston style and gets to be football's first boyishly fresh-faced grizzled veteran.

I am not going to the Captains run this morning, as I am going to Western Bulldogs verus GWS game this afternoon.

I’m sure there are many D/Land posters who have connections to players /officials etc at the MFC because let’s face it.. they are just people who live in our community. I def do but would only ever post something that wouldn’t affect them or wasn’t positive. The amount of censure & critique Ghosty got for basically trying to put our minds at ease regarding Fritta was ridiculous & unnecessssry . At the end of the day..her comments that “it was a beat up” & “he will play” proved correct. Certain posters believe whatever the media says but attack our own for passing on some good info. I enjoy all Ghosty has to offer but I wouldn’t bother posting any good pieces of info because you would ultimately get shot down in flames. Absolute bullying .,,

With better forward entries and Mihocek at the club I see Fritta and Roo being the major beneficiaries and will have big years.

We now have some quality smalls as well to compliment. I have always rated our forwards and with a better system we will put up some good numbers and shock a few, including our own supporters. Fritta is a must keep and I don’t see him going anywhere.

There are certain posters on here who can say whatever they like, and never get in trouble

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
