So no Marshall next week. Good so no kicking it to nas again.

Well Ross will certainly put the wind up them.

Just hope we are ready.

I wonder if king went along tonight to have a look

I think the Saints paid too much for De Koning, It kinda equals to us having to pay towards Oliver's salary. DeKoning and Silvani are players I wouldn't get , I just don't rate them.

Nasiah and Pickett are also overpaid players , but I can understand MFC coming to the party. Also we able to get Latrelle.

Pickett overpaid?!

Best post ever. Made my night, haha. thank you.

Far out, if we canโ€™t beat this rubbish Saints team next week we have some issues

they are trash

Sharman is their full forward. They have no forward presence. They won the inside 50 count by more than 20 yet had the ball rebound out with ease.

Their midfield is also average.

no idea how they are red hot favourites against us??

Agree.. in the last couple of years of the 0 round, teams that flayed earlier won more than those that didnโ€™t play. Statistically make a big difference

His first half of the Premiership game was instrumental in keeping us in it.

Agree. At Q time I had Salo as Norm Smith favourite

Iโ€™m not saying we canโ€™t win, just need a good start and everything to go right

Surely even if 6 goals down at ยพ we could confidently expect a win. ๐Ÿ™„. Happened last year ๐Ÿค”

They missed some very easy goals that could have and should have put the Morlocks away. Watch next week when they kick them from everywhere!

Thought the Saints were very unimpressive and if we also had a game under our belt would be confident at the G. Match fitness makes a massive difference and I would suggest even moreso with our new aggressive take what the game gives you style.

No Marshall now means we must 100% play an extra runner on the bench over a tall.
I would be setting Rivers for the job to counter Nas, like Perryman did where-ever he goes (mid or forward) and add a bit more niggle and physical pressure on him.

So who is tagging Nas? Langers?

Perryman probably won Pies the game he did such a good job on him.

Be interesting to see if King is a believer in tagging?

I really like the first as well. Do you mind if I copy it to my screen , just for a while,

Until Mfcss kicks in. Thanks in advance

It is great

Iโ€™d prefer Sparrow tag Naz. Rivers is going to be 1 of our main drivers out of the middle this year. Not sure Sparrow can play back, so I assume Howes gets him when he plays forward

Saints supporters are cut from the same cloth as Pies supporters. Just from the south-east and in fewer numbers. They get around their team and artificially pump the odds.

My post became redundant when I saw another that said Marshall was out concussed.

You're a better catch Ghosty.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.
