HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY Y’ALL!

I was born on International Women’s Day 21 years ago (shut up anyone who dares refute that) and this morning a friend asked me if I had a birthday wish. This is what I said… I want the Saints to beat the Pies but I want the Saints to sustain some injuries, nothing serious, just a week on the sidelines. And a suspension wouldn’t go astray, especially if someone takes out Maynard in the process (totally serious). I also want NWM to play a blinder coz Collingwood, but then for him to trip and land awkwardly when leaving the field. Again, nothing serious, he’ll sit out for a week.

My friend said “oh, ok. I was thinking more along the lines of good health, happiness, world peace etc.” I told him those things are all equal second on the list 😅

Just saw on instagram that at every home game we will be playing songs(picked by players) after a goal. I don’t mind it. Gets the kids up and about. After a few bevs I’ll be up and about too! Haha

Very much depends on the song. I don’t have much faith in the average footy players taste in music.

St Kilda did us a big favour last year. That last quarter capitulation showcased everything that was rotten in the club. All the chickens came home to roost. It was the catalyst for change.

We’re kingys team now. Reckon we’ll surprise a few

Pittonet & Reidy was a fail against the Swans. Carlton must go back to to Pittonet only with another player up forward pinch hitting in the ruck.

5 of the first 6 teams that might contend this year that are coached by real coaches have gone for extra runners, often on ball.

Only Brisbane went with something different and that’s probably because their best side includes Draper so why not give ZZ some minutes in his role. But McCluggage gets injured and they run out of legs.

Not sure who our equivalent player is, likely one of Laurie, Sharp or Kolt.

A bit to much logic here '31' & 'Dee'...

Thank you, Jules 🫶🏼

A win against the Saints would be a great start!

Still a whole week to go; this has been the longest preseason ever.

Salem's 200th and Langfords 20th birthday next Sunday against the Saints.

Edit: and possibly T-macs 250th! Thanks ghosty.

Salem cops it on here but he’s been a great servant for us. 200 games is a testament to that.

His first half of the Premiership game was instrumental in keeping us in it.

They lost by one kick. Hardly "run out of legs"

yes...but they were up by 26 points late in the 3rd so maybe run out of legs is a fair reason.

Can I surmise for a bit

Both Tracca CP3. And Clayton. had great games does that mean if it was s win - win - win situation Doesn’t that mean we will play extremely well first game. Just hoping. Very doubtful

I thought the roles reversed, opposed to Lions slowing down.

Doggies missed a lot early, Lions scored goals early. Doggies started nailing them and the Lions started missing.

Final qtr lions kicked 3.7 and dogs kicked 7.1

For mine, not quite. As much as anything, that St Kilda loss was as much as anything down to a lack of on-field leadership and smarts. Yet we still have the same 2 warriors as leaders. Understand that they don't grow on trees, and bringing in Steele and Mihoceck is in part a recognition of the situation, but still ...

The Saints gained the momentum and we couldn’t win it back, our better players couldn’t get their hands on the ball Then the 666 debacle which assisted Saints as our players couldn’t get back to help out showed all our internal flaws in a short time span. Our leadership bing181 was non existent in that last five minutes.

Can’t wait til we are up by 6 goals at 3/4 time so i can relax

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
