Didnt play enough games to qualify. Sadness

Should be in our NGA zone though!

Would the circumstances that affected Jurrah's career be the same obstacle for his children? BTW while we haven't mentioned it if he has a daughter similar to him she'd be exciting to watch in the AFLW.

A) didnโ€™t play enough games to qualify

B) unsure if he even has a son, let alone a son who has potential.

This thread really doesnโ€™t need to exist.

Pne would hope that our Indigenous Support person would keep done sort of umbrella of assistance. If asked for and if required for ALL our indigenous players . The AFL should do this with all clubs involvement.

Just watching, listening and giving advice Should be affordable.

There should be an annual Demonland award for the most time wasting post.

Didn't want to start another thread, but on a sort of related/unrelated topic - Tom Morris tweeted recently that the AFL are looking at introducing an additional rookie spot for an Indigenous footballer, which will be paid for by the AFL in a bid to increase representation in the league.

Idea has merit but obviously still plenty to work out by the AFL

Jurrah's son is worth a crack if this possibility becomes a reality.

Honestly this wouldn't be in the top 20 . ๐Ÿ˜‚

Putting in a nomination for the Zac Jones thread and another for "players that need a hair cut" one.

you are kidding ,i dont care what colour your size or where you live why should indigenous players get special treatment you want equal pay behave like a good person

Is that you, Allan McAllister?

โ€œAs long as they conduct themselves like white people, well, off the field, everyone will admire and respect โ€ฆ As long as they conduct themselves like human beings, they will be all right. Thatโ€™s the key.โ€

Itโ€™s got absolutely nothing to do with how they behave. Itโ€™s got everything to do with the lack of talent pathways for some of these kids. Generally speaking societies are far better off when marginalised minorities are given the support the majority take for granted.

This is an atrocious take.

Its fair to get special treatment if you are disadvantaged not because of any racial heritage.

The dominant storyline coming out of Round One for Saturday Nightโ€™s clash at Optus Stadium centres on the influence of the big men. The spotlight naturally falls on two elite ruckmen who, five years ago, shared the stage in Melbourneโ€™s memorable premiership triumph.

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, weโ€™ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binmanโ€™s Stats Files. Not because it isnโ€™t important; quite the opposite. Itโ€™s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourneโ€™s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last yearโ€™s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although itโ€™s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sundayโ€™s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to foolโ€™s gold.
