Wowzers, I wasn't expecting him to come that cheap.

Very happy with this.

Also that’s a 3rd rounder in 2027 where tassie get 10 extra picks as well. It’s basically a give away. prob we paying more of his contract.

given we lost oliver and trac I think he’s a good choice.

Ross doing Ross things

Welcome Jack. Max will be happy to have another leader carry the load.

Saints just nuked their culture.

Yes.

Bet Saints contributing salary too.

Says a lot about what King and the club are looking to do and where they see weaknesses. Yes, game style, more attack etc. etc., but we badly need leadership and maturity both onfield and off, especially after losing ANB and Gus.

Will help steady the ship.

I'm overseas and out of the loop but with Flanders choosing Saints Jack is almost certainly gone.

Is there a knock on him, is his body cooked? Is he past his best?

We are in desperate need of culture change and leadership qualities and i would have thought this guy has it in spades.

We are bottom 6 for a few more years I reckon and need a no DH policy to turn this club around ... on and off the field.

Good call 😎

Not a third year ....please... will we ever learn

You know we can spread his deal out over 3 years...

And he's a solid citizen.

Ironic that it was the Saints game that shone the brightest spotlight on this

You've got to give something to get something, just the way it is. He wasn't coming unless he got something on top of what he already had.

Steele is a good get and a good piece of business at that price

Club moved well after the Oliver news

Good leadership, good club man, the anti Oliver. An excellent trade off

Its a good pickup if he can get his body right. Saints supporters seem pretty sad which is also a good sign.

So I thought we were getting a good player in billings but was disappointed.

However I'm a bit more hopeful with Steele. He obviously comes with leadership experience & I'm pretty sure he's a good ball user.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
