Points wise we essentially got pick 1 or 2 for trac once you account for all the coming and going and some educated guesses on future picks. Feel like if that’s what we traded up to then most would say that’s a good deal for a 29 year old player that looks to be on the decline.

Trac was frustrated with player behaviours, how will he react to Jamara???

I dont think that is the reason why. In fact i dont know the real reasons why he ultimately wanted to leave, but clearly it had a lot to do with his NDE and his handling of that situation which left him isolated from the main playing group.

I think these stories will come to light soon enough now that he has left.

‘Points wise’ is the worst collection of words in footy

I wont feel compelled to pretend his recipes look impressive now that I somehow convinced myself that nice comments would make him a dee for life hahah.

Most of his recipes are built around chicken.

Ok now please don't package all our picks to move up the draft order for another Tholstrup.

No, we have our sights on a Lucas Cook

We'll move on. Woey, TJ and t9 a lesser extent Beamer were all past favourites i never thought would finish their careers in other colours but did.

Probably. This hurts as bad as when Farmer left. But Farmer wasn't a Norm Smith medallist.

Other people write the recipes for him. He is actually an average cook in real life. True story.

That would be true of 90% of tv chefs.

Can't help but feel there is a lesson here

Not in my eyes. Don't get me wrong i was a big fan of Trac, but Farmer was next level for me

Trac leaving for Gold Coasts hurts. So does Clarry going to GWS. But not as much as when the Wiz left for Fremantle. And not as much as when Greg Wells left for Carlton. I'm not old enough to remember Barassi leaving for Carlton, but Ron's defection probably hurt Dees supporters the most.

Hurt. Hurting right now...

Lets hope the recent losses of Clarry, Trac, Spargo, and McVee are offset with the acquisitions of Mihocek, CJ, Steele, and multiple 1st round picks...

Go Dees.

such a shame it ended this way, could have been one of the great greats, thanks trac

It’s the manner and all the issues, both in contract vs Farmer who was end of contract, we will never know all the reasons but it reinforces we are not a well run club across the handling of Oliver issues & how we supposedly handled Trac post injury with him feeling isolated, lays at the feet of the footy/goodwin dept… looking fwd King needed to clean air and a new era

Not that im wishing for that

Spot on. I had a brain fade that I can only put down to advancing age and the weekly mental breakdowns that come with being a Melbourne supporter.

But still not as much as when Gus was forced to retire.

Glad the saga is over, we need players like Gawn & Viney not selfish brands

I look forward to his tell-all, if it ever comes. I'm also interested to know of his regard among his team mates over the past 12 months. He has come across as a malcontent and unduly arrogant but that might just be my ignorance showing through. If the accounts of the players' response to his B&F speech are accurate it's for the best he has gone. Still, I think I'll rewatch the '21 finals series to see what he gave us in his prime.

That post game speech round 24 of 2021 rings so hollow now...and it irked me a little at the time since I've never been embarrassed to wear our colours. So glad he did not go to the Pies. They've done us enough harm these past two seasons.

Our compensation looks fair. It's up to the club to make the best of it. We have the chance for a genuine re-set, and I like Steele as a stop-gap, experienced mid. Looking forward to see what King can do with them.

Just playing Devil's..

Will we ever really know in a balanced overview or only just how Tracc perceived it.

Without doubt we weren't the best run place at the time.

But , and it might sound narky, I just don't really care.

He's moved out of my sphere of interest.

Yeah his B&F speech said it all saying it’s his job reinforced he had checked out, interest to know what how his teammates rate him as I dare say there is more to this & to hang on the club on his treatment during his injury, can’t be the defining moment

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
