Need a term like Collie wobbles for Geelong.

Since 2012 inclusive....they have made finals a dozen times for one cup.

Such a shame.

Suggestions?

I guess they always come up Gee-short.

Yeah I dunno.... making 15 of the last 22 prelim finals doesn't sound like a bad thing to me!

Maybe begrudgingly I'd call them a bloody good club, and I'm happy as an opposition supporter to have them to hate on, but their supporters have success that the rest of us would love to see!

They already have one and have had it for decades. The handbaggers are back in business

I was pretty down on us losing two double chances back to back but Cats record is worst.

Yea good effort to make finals consistently.

But shocking conversion rate.

Is it the Home ground getting them to finals they don't belong in,?

Something's NQR.

It’s kind of hilarious that pre grand final, posters were bemoaning our inability to be like Geelong or Brisbane and how great their culture/recruiting etc has been to allow sustained opportunity to compete in finals.

And then not winning on the day is proof of failure? 🤷‍♂️

Best me too it SB.

Given every advantage short of the nepo-baby academies, on and off the books, and have an unmistakably exceptional list, but have fallen short so many times.

Geelong's motto should be The Spirit of 2008!

I dunno but I’m feline fine this morning

Pre 2000 they were just another club in the league. 4 or 5 premierships in 100 years.

I’d give anything to be as successful as them in terms of contending year in, year out.

I don't if that means being the golden child of the AFL and benefiting from so many hand overs.

GEE longshot

I for one enjoy watching the cats fail.

I would take the Cats record in that period over ours any day. Not sure what point you are trying to make.

To be fair, I'd prefer their run of success than ours. At least they have their culture right and all cogs appear to be moving.

We have to content with Richardson and Lamb screwing FD and list up.

Everyone.. Come on it is obvious... Op thread name was so close...

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

Following an injury-interrupted start to the season, McVee struggled to maintain the standard he established in 2025 as he pursued an expanded role within the team structure. He remained a firm fan favourite and the club had hoped to negotiate a new contract with the former rookie selection from Western Australia, whose partner, Lily Johnson, plays for Melbourne's AFLW side. Those hopes were dashed when he expressed his desire to return to his home state and play for Fremantle. Like all players who have worn the red and blue and are leaving this year, we wish him well in the future.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #5 Christian Petracca

The superstar Demon midfielder made a successful return to the fold after his devastating injury last year and the subsequent fallout from the treatment he received, during which time he sought to depart the club. Petracca's professionalism and strong play, both in the midfield and up forward, were outstanding and resulted in him being runner-up in the club's best and fairest count. However, early this week, the club's new CEO, Paul Guerra, confirmed that the under-contract Petracca has again requested a trade, adding that he would only be allowed to leave for a “quality offer that turns our head". No doubt some Demon heads are already spinning.
