I reckon heโ€™ll be with us next week. Canโ€™t see him riding out the season with the Cats

If we were in the finals race probably. I don't think so given we aren't

There is always talk about an AFL team going for him, so it's big kudos for his judgement.

Yeah Collingwood were after him big time

Brad Green gets a lot of negative comments on this site but credit where itโ€™s due.

Well done. Time to give him some flowers Dโ€™landers.

You really wanna go back to being 'the fuschias' ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Bluey's made a blue again. What did you think of the latest Naked Gun, bluey? I might trust you a bit more on comedy than footy.

Bluey thought it was exciting and arousing...yeah it reminded him of his mother alright

The โ€œhard-[censored] coach = resultsโ€ view is stuck in the 1950s. Performance is driven by connection, precision, and trustโ€”not intimidation. To suggest losing comes down to a coach being โ€œtoo softโ€ is reductionist at best. The evidence is clear: consistent outcomes come from psychological safety and clarity, not dogma.

I look forward to the usual suspects crapping on in due courseโ€ฆ

Nailed it, EO. The methods of the 1950s should remain in the 1950s.

Unrelated: how come weโ€™re all talking in Helvetica and youโ€™ve gone all Times New Roman on us? ๐Ÿ˜

Sam Mcclure is a such a nuffie. i'm amazed he has a paid gig.

Can you believe he gets paid to have that hairstyle?

I'm actually very impressed by the cleverness of the "clarity" question ( if indeed thats how it went down and no reason to doubt )

"If we offered you the job....... "

It's not the answer per se... but the reaction that gives you the only real knowledge you require about the attitude of the applicant.

Mr Buckley was playing cute. He's entitled to play it any way he likes. The Club is also entitled to call it any way it sees.

Again. Impressed by clarity of vision.

Looking forward to seeing how we play.

I just heard The King on tv, he comes across as a little too affable for mine, was hoping for a hard [censored] guy.

Best wishes to him.

Honestly, what word is being censored here

Did anyone hear that man McClures comments? Apparently he said we panicked because we were worried if we offered the job to bucks he might have turned us down for tassie.

When did we ever say Buckley had it? The media got caught up with the story.

As Brad Green said, it's disrespectful to the other candidates

The whole post should be censored ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I'm surprised with the result but very excited to have a new senior coach locked in. Welcome to the club Kingy! Let's hope success follows you!

This is a great outcome imo.

No need to force myself to like FIGJAM and weve got a top tierfootball person who has done a long apprenticeship at plenty of clubs.

Iโ€™ll audio record it and sms to you

Itโ€™ll make sense then

If not, I canโ€™t help you sorry

Just my opinion: itโ€™s totally acceptable that Kingy stays with Geelong until their 2025 campaign is over. Itโ€™s the same as Paul Guerra remaining in his previous employment until such time as his work was completed before coming to us. For mine itโ€™s a testament to good character that they donโ€™t jump ship immediately thus leaving their current employers in the lurch.

I don't mind Gerard broke it. Better than Tom.

According to ralphy the journos had no idea and thought it was down to 3. Didn't find out until the players got the email.

Once again I'm glad there was no leak. A good start

Welcome to the Guerra Era

Some of the comments re Buckley are pretty ordinary. The fact that the club had him on the short list of 2 speaks to how the selection panel saw him in comparison to the other candidates. He clearly has a lot to offer, but equally as clearly, wasn't ready to commit. The question as to whether King or Buckley are the better choice is moot, we'll never know.

Nah not at all. The audacity of a bloke to go that deep into a process only to expect us to wait to see what the other hot chick has to offer.

We have to start acting like we have more dignity than that.

Hopefully this is another fail in a litany of Aussie rules failures for FIGJAM

It's Game Day on Friday night. ANZAC Eve. The big stage at the โ€˜G. The Demons return to the spotlight for one of our most significant nights on the football calendar, taking on the Tigers in a clash that always carries extra weight given the gravity of occasion of the commemoration of the ANZAC Spirit. Under the lights, in front of a packed house, this is where moments are made. Can the Dees rise to the occasion and deliver on the big stage, or will Richmond spoil the night? Round 7 is here, with the ANZAC commemoration games taking centre stage. Who are you tipping this week, and which results would be most favourable for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competitionโ€™s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.
