You're punting on the Daly double?

...and it's one way to avoid a return to Bruce-free football?

As an assistant coach, yes please!

Buckley head coach with Bruce midfield would be exciting

Very

Could be the equivalent of goody and yze

Cam is a different kettle of fish, he comes from successful organisations and has build a good foundation of skills outside of the Melbourne way, it is this reason I think Nathan Jones should be moved on after this year (plus he is the under performing midfield/stoppage coach), having lost 75% of all the games he played at the club, go learn your craft at other successful organisations and potentially come back one day. The last thing we need is the boys' club raring it's head again, which it looks like it is already underway. Cam has the added benefit of doing his apprenticeship under Clarkson & now Fagan.

In fairness to Jones, I sense that he did us a favour rather than the other way around.

It’s not as if the door was being knocked down by experienced players wanting the job

I'm much more excited at the prospect of Cam Bruce coming to the club the Buckley tbh

Would Bruce want to be at a club with a Guerra ??

A friend was just wondering 🤔 🙄 ...

Did you have to remind me of that? Cam was in BOG form that season then got driven into the hard ground at the Colonials...

Anyway has Cam forgiven the MFC for sacking Junior?

Good on Jonesy if he did.

However, I'm not aware that was a door, or a queue of knockers, we outsiders had the benefit of seeing?

Cam, with Buckley as assistant?? 🤭🧐

Its a SOFT cap!

We are allowed to go over it FFS. Just means need to pay a bit extra to AFL house... which given AFL house determine how much funding each club get and there really is no visibility on why each club gets what they get.... its really just another negotiation at head office to determine what the "tax" vs payments actually is.....

Not doubting your sources Pickett but you over the journey you do have a tendency to come out with rumours once its actually announced in the media and not prior like the Cam Bruce thing which came out at lunch time today?

Aren't you currently in London??

Picket fence is the new front runner for the job.

Calm down. Not sure we've got money to burn either way.

I think it’s fair to say that

CAM BRUCE HAS GONE COMPLETELY MAD!!

hinkley and davies are rumoured to be creating pear 2.0 with their old assistant coach voss at the baggers, so don't know where the story that he's coming to melbourne is coming from

good people person and media performer

I thought the word was that Hinkley is mentally cooked and wanted to take a break from the AFL in general?

who knows

it's all just rumour at this point in time

Mentioned this the other day.

I would love Bruce back at the club, I dont think it ended the best.

I also love his work with the Hawthorn 3-peat team and the way he helped transition Brisbane's midfield from slow codgers into a force.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
