So did anyone catch the opening segment of the agenda setters?

Not that I watched it but had the TV running in the background and this show so happened to come on and immediately Caro there was ongoing issues at board level with Brad Green and Steven Smith.

  • Supposedly the Goodwin sacking was purely a Brad Green decision. Not entirely sure where Smith stand on this.

  • Steven Smith was supoose to start in a few weeks, but now apparently Greeny is pushing his start time back to December because now he wants to stay involved and sees everything through.

  • Mentioned there is clearly a disconnect off field at leadership level with board members probably not being aligned with one another.

  • Off field issues now going to be a major barrier for potentially Nathan Buckley or any other coach due to our messy board level and lack of stability.

Caro๐Ÿ™„ .. muck raking.... ๐Ÿค” not like her .....

Iโ€™ll watch it later, but I listened to The Age Real Footy Podcast today in which Caro clearly implied that Green and the board made the decision so that Smith could start clean. And now sheโ€™s saying this. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Caro is bizarre to me. She knows that boards canโ€™t come out and refute most of what she says. Smith will be President, Guerra will be CEO. Itโ€™s all very clear. She continues to trade in football board and C level speculation and I donโ€™t think 98% of the football public could care less. I donโ€™t know why anyone pays for her services anymore. Sheโ€™s so niche, and itโ€™s boring.

Caroline Wilson knows all of this exactly how?

โ€œClearly the decision was made by the President, Brad Green.โ€ Clearly, Caro? What makes this clear to you?

Why do people still not only listen to her but believe what she says??!!

The board made a unanimous decision to sack Goodwin

And guess what, Smith is a board member

Even if it was driven by Green he alone couldnโ€™t have made the change

Iโ€™d be quite astonished if this were true. Green seemed like he was a big fan of Goodwin. We also know that Smith was present at the board meeting that Goodwin presented at a week before he got the chop. Also presidents donโ€™t make decisions on their own, boards do. Not to mention green came off like he was reading a script at the presser, felt very coached.

I think itโ€™s more likely that they want Smith and Guerra to come in with a clean slate. Green is effectively there to make the big decisions before being parachuted out. Not uncommon corporate strategy.

Agenda setters ??? Appropriate ๐Ÿ˜‰

Might be best to not watch or listen to these footy shows for a few weeks. Clearly there is a frenzy of media on our club right now all looking for any negative angle they can stir up whether true or not. Truth is they donโ€™t know. They just speculate to suit their own agendas. All will be revealed in due course.

Please donโ€™t let the constant barbs by the usual media suspects get to you.

Maybe hit Netflix for a while.

strange story. and ultimately means nothing

of course smith was involved in the goodwin decision. the whole board was.

and whether smith takes over now or a few months time, who cares

Thereโ€™s no way on earth Green has the required power to make an executive decision. Iโ€™m not familiar m the clubs constitution but if he went against the board, he would be outed with a vote of no confidence and Goody would remain.

Also I believe Green to have the clubs best interest at heart - he doesnโ€™t appear to be a โ€˜back roomโ€™ type figure playing politics.

So I call a big BS on Caroโ€™s Arrow, which seems to miss the target all a bit too much these days. Itโ€™s also Ch 7โ€™s strategy with Kane and co onboard, which is all about click bait style journalism.

If any Ch7 afl post pop up on my social feed, I always lay into them, which often results in them deleteting and reposting the same story to get rid of the old comments - pathetic.

Caro only got her job because of her old man. She's a hack, she makes stuff up and if she gets it right she will go on about it forgeting about all the things she got wrong.

Did you hear the barb she made? That Simpson and Longmire had pulled out because it wasn't a very good job cue laughter from other hosts.

She's clearly personally invested in seeing that Buckley coaches Tasmania instead, by muckraking and putting down our club and the coaching position. For what reason? I don't know, But she's like a dog with a bone when she wants something to happen.

If you feel the need to refer to yourself as an agenda setter, youโ€™re probably the opposite.

I think a quote from Monty Python is in order: "Well, that 's the sort of blinkered, Philistine pig-ignorance we've come to expect from you non-creative garbage".

Another perfect example of click bait vomit which simply generates superficial rumour-based conversation for the AFL media and journos. You watch Cleary, McClure, Cornes etc... jump on this and build a junk time news story.

Had a quiet chuckle when she said โ€œit was also reported on 3AW rumour filesโ€โ€ฆ lolll

So what's the story here? Brad Green said he would stop being president at the end of the season and now it's going to be December?

There are times when I really don't like Caro, and this is one of them. She makes stuff up, and most of her columns are now highlighted with "Opinion piece"

I know Steven Smith and had a chat at a Gosch's training session before he went to Italy. He stated that he wouldn't assume the role at least until the AGM, as it would be too disruptive to take over on his return from OS. He was at the President's lunch on Sunday, let it slip that Italy was really hot and that he video conferenced into board meetings while on his holiday. Caro I call BS.

She cannot have it both ways, either. You cannot say there is a leadership vacuum due to the president being acting and the CEO absent, then say Green is being dictatorial and overreaching. The fact is he was appointed to be president and until the AGM and elections come up, which may well be in December, he is the president, end of story. As for Keith Thomas, the moment he put his foot in his mouth, he was never going to be selected. Or did she neglect to say that?

Her history of bagging this club, whether it be tanking, Goodwin and bad behaviour, inuendo re Oliver or any other opportunity to badmouth our club, indicates to me the best thing is to ignore her.

As if her speech impediments arenโ€™t enough to listen to, now sheโ€™s just stirring the pot.

Oh boyโ€ฆ

So we are just assuming this is muckraking?

What if we are leaking against each other? What if an interim president is making/leaning on decisions that they shouldnโ€™t?

Why should I give the benefit of the doubt? Thatโ€™s not rhetorical.

โ€œDiscoโ€ took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.ย

It was a frustrating season for the former number 13 draft selection, who failed to build momentum in his second campaign; Tholstrup played only nine games, having been omitted twice and substituted out three times. However, he demonstrated promising signs in the midfield at Casey towards the end of the season, and big things are anticipated from him in the coming years.
