In - May, Jeffo

Out - TMac/Petty (dropping either would be harsh - big picture call), Windsor

play Adams and Jeffo for last 2 games. Howes to wing

Well, we made one set of supporters aspiring for finals sheet their dacks yesterday. Let’s make it two next week.

This week it’s Hawthorn’s home game. For those who like sitting near the cheer squad, the DA will be in the away cheer squad bay (M33), Ponsford end.

The Collingwood game is also an away game for us, but we’ll be in the home cheer squad bay (M3), Punt Rd end because Collingwood allows us to. It’s not coz they’re nice, it’s coz Collingwood luvs them the Ponsford, so the list of good things about Collingwood still remains empty.

Despite the obvious different ladder postions and form this season, we are at a huge disadvantage this week, with the Hawks having 3 extra days between games.

That is a ridiculous advantage to have.

Maybe they’ll go stale?

Two more games to go

I’m keeping Adams in. We’ve been screaming out to play the kids so there’s no point calling for one to come out for May. Let him play the last two weeks.

Petty down back. McDonald out purely to give some kids a crack.

B. Bowey Turner Adams

HB: Mcvee Petty Lindsey

C: Langdon Pickett Culley

HF: Chandler JVR Langford

F: Fritsch Kentfield Mentha

R: Gawn Petracca Rivers

I/C Howes Oliver Tholstrup Salem

Sub melksham

McDonald sparrow Viney Windsor out

Mentha Kentfield Lindsey Tholstrup in

Dont ever make Howes the sub.

I might be in the minority but I rate Howes pretty highly and I think over the last few weeks he's taken some really big steps forward.

Him being the sub was genuinely an odd decision. Make Sparrow the sub if we have too.

Yep that was perplexing. We needed some leg speed - run & gun out of stoppage in my view.

Not that Sparrow brings that either. We really lacked explosiveness around the footy from a sub option (if available but pretty much non-existent at the moment).

Bringing Howes on and losing a mid / forward rotation with the game still up for grabs was certainly not going to help our cause late in the game imv.

Viney having a bit of a mare didn't help also.

Why are people resting players like Tmac & Melksham? There’s two games to go for gods sake

I’d reward them both with one year contracts & play them till seasons end, they deserve it

Tmac was in the coaches votes

Adam’s would be pretty stiff to be dropped after a reasonable debut.

K Brown for Windsor?

Mentioned maybe but for whom?

Adams was imo poor. I saw nothing to suggest he will make a senior player

If we are serious about trying to win this game he goes out for May.

Fullerton is not AFL standard.

While Big Kent is unproven his game is developing well and looks to be the player we've been searching for and has an added touch of mongrel to go with it.

I hope you’re right

Agree billy it beggars belief that people want to drop them. Tmac is holding that defence together and has all year.

it's a decent shout, but T-Mac is needed for this one.

Our last two games could have a significant effect on the final ladder.

It would show a lack of respect for the code if we selected anything less than our best available team.

Suggestions that TMac be dropped just so a youngster can get a game are bizarre. He has been the kingpin in our defence for a good part of the season and has probably earned at least one more year. For a player who was written off by many two years ago, that's a remarkable performance.

Fitness and form, not age, are the criteria for selection.

If we win both games we might even help push Collingwood out of the top four. That is a worthwhile objective in itself.

Anyone who watched the Casey/Bris game would have to have noticed Spargo dominating the game. I’d select him for Windsor’s spot.

Howes came on & Bowey went into the mid/forward rotation.

I would like to see more of Bowey in that role.

Given we almost always do the dirty on our VFL side at this time of year, it would be nice if we actually tried to help them (within reason) to get into the eight and play finals.

There are three players who missed last week and are available - May, Sharp (our 24th man) and Lindsay.

And we should only lose one, Windsor, to injury. That should mean we are much stronger than normal when our VFL side meets Box Hill on Sunday - the day after our senior side clashes.

It would also be nice if we help our chances the following week by blooding a couple of VFL regulars at the higher level - namely Kentfield and Brown - just as we have so successfully done with Culley.

Having an AFL game under his belt now will really help Adams' progress as it did with Jeffo, but clearly they are still a long way off AFL standard and that's why May has to come in for Adams and the list manager needs to hold off any contract extension talks on Jeffo and Adams until next year. The VFL finals should be a great audition for Jeffo and Adams to see if they are getting close to ready.

So I'd go with the following:

Out: Windsor (inj), Adams, Sparrow

In: Kentfield, May, Brown

Make Melky the sub as he is clearly tiring, but his smarts in the final term are incredibly useful.

Play Lindsay, Sharp, Sparrow and Adams in the VFL to insure Casey has the perfect mix of grunt and run to beat Box Hill.

PS: To the send Rivers to the midfield again lobby. You are aware how bad he was in that role at the start of this year and that it's only been in the last month that he's got his mojo back - and that's been playing exclusively as a defender.

Did you vote for the Dorks??

I would think May comes in for Adam’s, Howes and Windsor both out. Would like to see Viney dropped and Salem but not sure it happens.

Lindsay, Kolt and Spargo all in the frame to play. Kynan Brown and Kentfield are Smokey’s.

On another note, Petty and JVR played their best game together this year. Hope they continue to build form and connection.

I’d take two Kozzy’s over two Tracs.. what was I thinking!! Haha

Who wouldn’t vote for the dorks!

I’m hoping they are loading this week in preparation for the finals and we can get them.

Lindsay with hamstring awareness and will miss this week again according to the injury report.
