Nothing I presume. We were told he was going to continue consulting on Caulfield but seems to have been quietly shunted off as recent articles about Caulfield have mentioned.

It's damning on the people in charge of the governance of the club that it has come to this. Some of the things pointed out in the article are farcical. A comms director put in charge of football decisions? A CEO applicant told no but then asked to keep the seat warm all year? A CEO appointed but can't start for 6 months? I know there have been apologists on here that say it's usual for CEO's to have lengthy notice periods but this is not the case. Organisations don't want CEO's hanging around once they've made the decision to leave. If it were usual then other clubs would have similar issues and it wouldn't be unusual for us to have to wait an entire season for the new CEO to commence.

Also why was Shand at Monday's Board meeting? That seems highly unusual.

Williams one of the most highly paid development coaches in the league. Richo still contracted til end of next season. 🙄

It is strange that a CEO doesn't start until so many months down the track. I mean yes he has things to tie up, but but in any organisation I've worked at we've never had to wait this long.

And it's after the season to. Yes I know he's walking with the coach but this is an organisation that is in a rabble at the moment.

Yes the club is in a mess - I'd say that even if the CEO/Board etc were perfect - playing badly is what matters most and that's what we've been doing.

But typical C Wilson. She looks to put the boot in from every angle, however absurd. For example:

Even stranger?? You could argue that the welfare manager(with footy experience) is the perfect person to be the runner. A person without current experience in that role is more liable to cause damage than one who knows the welfare situation of each player.

C. Wilson has been contacted for comment. (Actually she hasn't, but what a slimey line she repeatedly uses.)

The Reece Conca was ridiculous and shows they are putting an article out when to will get clicks due to our onfield efforts

I never know what to make of these articles. Clearly there are on-field problems and obvious shortcomings off-field. But the conclusions may not follow and some BS/unsubstantiated stuff can be thrown in. This piece is not enlightening, just depressing.

Green has always maintained he is President for the short term and that it is particularly difficult juggling that with a young family and a business. If Green was 'bristling,' I doubt it was about that.

Things I learnt from the article

• Richardson is contracted to end of next year

• Shand was at Monday's Board meeting

• Pettyfor, appointed as Comms Executive, is taking up a dual role as head of football for AFLW including list management. The previous incumbent in that role also took up a role in the AFL FD

• Williams and Griffiths are out of contract at end of season

• Our media boss was in charge of babysitting Clarry over 23/24 summer when he went off the rails. During that period Oliver was "undergoing direct and regular intervention from the AFL’s mental health team, league chiefs, AFLPA bosses and Pert."

No pressure on the new CEO, but the five month wait between hiring and starting (taking in almost the entire season) will leave people expecting that he's got some amazing super moves up his sleeve to make the wait worthwhile.

And this is why players from other clubs won't come to us, no stability, no proper training base, no consistency on field & we are a laughing stock

I think it is very healthy and wise to be sceptical of anything written in the media.

to my eye most of what was written was factual. It's clear the board have been a shambles for a while.

Around 25 mins into the longer of the two clips. He gets introduced as interim president but tries to cut Tim Lane off to correct him that he’s not interim, he’s president for 12 months under a succession plan.

IIRC he did other radio interviews that day where he said the same thing.

I'm certainly not saying he is the right candidate and I'm well aware that 99% of readers on this site believe MFC/AFL takes precedence over everything. Just not sure if he dumped this world conference at this late stage, how good a look it would have been. Maybe that's back on the board for agreeing to it. Either way Duffy is suggesting he's on holiday so who knows WTF's going on.

I think it's more than a bit of nothing. By bringing up the runner-welfare duplication role Wilson show she enjoys putting the boot in regardless of relevance. In fact as I wrote above, you could well argue it is a good thing to combine the roles. But she implies the opposite just to sink the boot in.

That casts doubt on everything she says about anything, not just MFC. I'm not saying we are not in a mess etc, but as a general policy, I'd look at everything she says as liable to have been twisted or exaggerated to support whatever case she is making.

Geez, it's not hard to jump on the dissapointing Demons bandwagon after that loss last week.

If she was in a gang she'd be the first one in with the boots when someone goes down.
