The best of Mihocek would be brilliant for us. I just worry - given how his year played out - that he's cooked physically.

He's been such a workhorse that maybe his body is done. Fingers crossed my feelings are unfounded.

Anyone with any doubts whatsoever, needs to watch these. Does everything a forward should and does it well. Great get.

I vehemently disagree with this statement.

Yes Goody was way off to play Petty fwd for 2 years who managed under a goal a game. Yes that's correct.....a season average over two years by of les than a goal a game from our tallest fwd.

He did help out in the ruck a bit but wasn't very good. And for his athleticism and height he barely took any contested marks. He just doesn't have the core strength for the role.

But we had a player in Fritta whose form like Milks would wax and wane ( more wane) with the latter starting the season relatively late.

Kozzie understandably played more in the midfield so didn't kick as many rolls as he could have despite a pretty good season as usual.

Jvr and the young Jeffo who was finally getting better were quite ordinary.

And despite our often poor delivery i50 our fwd line was a bust.

At my age (late 60s) I agree 35 is youngish...but for a footballer?

Oops, meant a forward 20-25 would be a good age.

My mum's favorite player at Collingwood. She's a Collingwood supporter and said she'd barrack for Brisbane now Mihochek has gone. LOVE IT MADE MY DAY.

He managed 22 games last year. Must be fit. But certainly no spring chicken.

So I hear you. Let's hope your fingers work.

Even when we had Ben brown, one of the best lead up forwards going around, we still kicked it long on his head!!! Insane game plan

Miihocek can lead and mark, take pack marks, kick accurately from set shots, is nimble and kicks field goals. Was the Filth's leading goal-kicker for multiple years. He is exactly what our forward line needs. Can't wait to see him running riot in red and blue and watching his influence on JVR next year. Welcome Brodie Mihocek.

Mihocek on Saturday informed the Pies that he would be leaving the club for the Demons following Collingwood's best and fairest.

The unrestricted free agent would be unlikely to garner any high level compensation for the Pies given his age – 32 – and the short-term contract, meaning a deal could still be done as a back-end trade.

Under free agency rules, the compensation pick a club gets for losing a player can be diluted or even withdrawn if they bring in another player via free agency.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

Salem proved to be a valuable contributor as a reliable and solid one-on-one medium-sized defender in what was undoubtedly his most impressive season since the premiership year. He remains a highly capable rebounding option for the Demons as he approaches his 200th game at the club.
