Welcome to Demonland: Brody Mihocek

Feels odd they are offering Silvagni four years but only one to Mihocek. I can’t see him leaving but hope he does.

A Daniel Cross type of recruitment. Career built on attitude and intelligence.

If he plays 20 games in two seasons it would still be worth it.

Could also be fun seeing Mihocek and Melksham find a telepathic link in a season together.

I have the obvious hesitations but we definitely need strong characters around the club.

Big yes from me for 2 years. Genuine target and even his bad games are rarely that bad.

He’s consistent and you know what you’re gonna get.

Would know a thing or two about standards and would be a good mentor for JVR and Jeffo.

Edit: and would know what a functioning forward line should be doing/receiving.

He could be our Brown recruit.

very underrated player

He kicks important goals which is exactly what we need.

600k a year for Silvagni is wild. Collingwood best (Miho)chek themselves before they wreck themselves.

BroMih only debuted at 26yo, definitely worth a shot on a two-year deal.

Yep, everyone cries about what we pay Trac and Clarry, when the reality is that $600k is now a starting wage for most mid level footballers, even injury prone ones.

Most B grade midfielders are on $800k a year now.

This would be astonishing if a favourite son was pushed out in favour of a third generation Carlton family member.

I’d take him for sure, think he’d be great for two years with an option to be involved at club level after. He’s as blue collar as they come

One of the few (very ) filth players who seems a decent bloke and ... a very smart forward.

I’d put Elliot, Pendles, Sidebottom, Jaicos and Hill in that camp. The rest can GOGF.

Would be a good get, but suspect it would take more than a 2 year deal. I’d go for a 2+1 or 2+1+1 where to get the extensions there must be minimum games played and goals kicked. Say 30 games after 2 years gets the +1 and then another 15 gets the the fourth year. I’d be asking for 30-40 goals per year as well.

That way if he can satisfy the expectations he’ll get 4 years otherwise we have the discretion to terminate his contract t. We could offer him good money. 600-800k per year.

Have always liked him - gun

Pies in law brother can’t stand him and I can’t work out why

3 year deal

We’d be instantly better

It’s an interesting decision to want Silvagni in the first place from McCrae, obviously sees something in him. He’s a good utility player for sure, but if I have the choice between the two, I’m choosing Mihocek all day long.

My entire family is Carlton. I’ll need to stock up on defibrillators for when Jack goes to Collingwood. 😁

Pies bro-in-law: Well, ya see, it's 'cause that boy's got hisself some learnin' and whatnot. Thinks he’s all high ‘n’ mighty ‘cause of it.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
