Gee would love to know the spray Kingsley gave that team at half time because it clearly worked.

Goes to show you can still do it.

If he was a real coach he would have waited for the momentum swing and taken the learnings.

I’ll preface this by saying that I know he’s absolutely not one and never was or will be, but Matt Rowell gives me creepy serial killer vibes. The type that really stalks and gets to know his victims over weeks, if not months. Then keeps a trophy. Chewed grass is always found at the scene; leading to him being dubbed the ‘GCK’ (the Grass Chewing Killer).

Didn't expect this performance from the Suns

looks like they might finally be contenders.

And given the talent at their disposal its about time

Brisbane making double sure Gold Coast just about get top four.

The rest of the games today look deplorable

I need a new hobby

Suns could win the flag, then get 3 top 18 picks, plus Curnow, plus Kalani White.

not to mention a couple more academy guns

Got a work mate - Dees, MCC - seriously so jack of the club he might switch to the suns

We live in northern NSW so makes sense

Doesn’t want to put his kids what he has gone through! Has timed it well if he does

Do we need a big display on the screen telling us what number clash we are up?

Good to see West Coast staying in the game against Freo until the 25 minute mark of the first quarter.

Rivalry round is AWESUM

This season has proved a disaster for the AFL - and even more so for the broadcasters.

Five rounds still to go and there's only one team outside the 8 who realistically can make finals, the dogs (by the by has a team ever not made the finals with a percentage north of 125%?)

Meaning we have five weeks with any number of rubbish games, including tonight.

And tonight's game highlights another related worry for the AFL and broadcasters - the gap in performance levels of the top 9 teams and the bottom 9 teams.

My fear is that the fact that the eight almost settled - and you have to fear for the Dogs' chances with the Suns win over the Lions today leaving the western suburb crew a game outside the eight - the AFL will do something knee-[censored] and stupid, like introduce a wildcard round. Spare us!

As for the Dogs in ninth spot with a percentage of 125-plus, that has to be the definition of flat track bully.

For a fleeting moment Brisbane could have taken top spot.

Would love to see Collingwood finish first, only to get Geelong week one. I reckon the Cats could get it done.

Fair chance the loser would come up against GWS or Hawthorn the following week. Both could take the Pies on their day.

Just anyone but Collingwood please.

Laughable that Hardwick thinks Witts should even remotely be in the conversation for AA ruck.

Surely a great coach like McRae couldn't go out in straight sets!!! Any coach who allows that, no matter how well their team performed during the season, must be a complete dud, with a thread on the fan site dedicated to how they have to go...

north are very poor. clueless going forward.

not easy being a Dees supporter these days but jeez, north fans must be ready to give up at this stage. the never ending rebuild.

Derwayne referred to us as the SS Minnow about Nibbler going to the Fairstar

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
