As much as I hate the pies & they are looked after by the afl the fixtures etc also respect them that they fight to the end, something that’s gone missing from us & all this love BS and talk of not wins & losses but process is that BS as it’s created mediocracy acceptance of losing, we don’t hear McRae saying this he looks like he cares deeply for all his players!

Hey @Clintosaurus Gold Coast got about 5 free kicks in the last 5 minutes. I assume this is because the Collingwood conspiracy took a break tonight?

I didn't see the game. Guess Hardwick's sooking about Matt Rowell got a dividend?

Did laugh at this from a Cats fan podcast:

Thanks to the lord. The pies lost. She got it right. The loss they needed before the finals. Spew !

Dogs v Crows a good quality game.

Crows were juicy odds for some reason too

Interesting that the AFL keeps fixturing a Pies rare interstate trip, to the GC in school holidays, ensuring a large Pies fan attendance and surprise, surprise, they then with the noise keep getting the best of the umpiring.

Have they played at Geelong in the last 40 years?

Just seen the funniest miss of all time

naughton running into goal 15m straight in front

Misses the lot. By a long way. 20m to the right of the behind post

He is 4.1 with 2 out on the full

Yeah and didn’t Jonathon Brown (and Garry Lyon to a lesser extent) love mentioning how the pies are great in terms of how many travel interstate. Of course a lot of them travelled; as you said, it’s school holidays and it’s the Gold Coast.

I’d like to see how many would travel to three consecutive interstate games, especially if they’re at the wrong end of the ladder. Or two matches in Adelaide in the space of five days like we had to last year.

It pizzes me off no end because the fact is our club can boast a very high rate of supporters travelling interstate. Our cheer squad is #1 when it comes to travelling.

Stick that where it fits, Jono and Gaz 😁

Just turned on Footscray v Adelaide - best news is that umpire 22 is there today which means he won't be there tomorrow.

Crows kicking is so good

their coaches must be great at teaching them how to kick. lol

can run, can bounce the ball, can't officiate the game

routinely poor decision maker

Watching Bulldogs vs Adelaide shows how much we miss ANB. His last quarter has been so good. Chasing, tackling and pressure acts.

The Bont with 35.

6 assists! and 11 tackles

best player in the league by a mile

And one of the nicest humans you’ll ever meet.

An absolute disgrace that he’s never won a Brownlow.

Watching GWS game: i absolutely hate bad umpiring. A Geelong player gets the ball, tackled, drops it, play on. The caller says: he "dropped it but had no prior opportunity."

WHAAAT???WTF????

And the amount of pure throwing that the umpires tolerate - not to mention that, without fail, EVERY free paid against a Geelong player is disputed, with no dissent penalty - just gives me the complete s...s.

Andrew Dillon: Do you know what a handball is??

Throwing is incorrect disposal

These Suits should be put in jail for ruining the Game of Australian Rules Football

Give me 5 minutes….

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #42 Aidan Johnson

The VFL premiership player was recruited from Werribee to alleviate Melbourne’s forward line woes and give a chop out in the ruck, but he managed only five senior matches in his first season at the club. At times, he was a dominant force at VFL level.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #44 Luker Kentfield

An exciting young key forward, Kentfield was selected in the 2024 mid-season draft but has yet to make his AFL debut. He was sidelined by a severe bout of pneumonia over the summer, which consequently limited his pre-season. Upon his return a month into the season, he commenced in defence but ultimately impressed with his progress at Casey, particularly in the latter part of the season as a strong marking goal kicking forward.

  • AFLW REPORT: West Coast

Melbourne’s response to last week’s heartbreak was emphatic, as the Demons delivered a statement win over West Coast at a windswept Casey Fields. All of the pre-match hype surrounded the coach’s box matchup of Mick Stinear up against his apprentice, Daisy Pearce along with the gloomy weather forecast. In the end, it was less about tactical chess and more about Melbourne’s relentless execution. With rain looming, the DeeArmy and early birds snapped up the best undercover viewing spots.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.
