I'm going to this game but I'm wondering why.

No one from the vfl deserves to be promoted

No change unless you want to give one of Lindsay or Langford a rest / run as a sub

Viney might be a chance for next weekend

Give him a run for Lindsay or Langford. Freshen one of the young lads up over the next two weeks with the bye coming after Port

Viney in if fit - if season is shot then Jeffo or JVR need to be played key forward for an extended period

Viney can wait till post bye. It’s time to play the kids, go for the kicks and not worry about results It’s all about 2026

Langford has really tired recently

Give him a break

Perhaps bring in Laurie for him. We need to find out if he has it or not.

JVR was abysmal today and you want to keep him in??? Why?

I mean let's settle down, we did very well to get within a point of those protected species and the umps all against us, it wasn't a fair game and we still nearly won it. I know its frustrating and how can you expect to be able to win against those odds when it seems like the umps have it in for you but we did a lot right.

Would like to see Jeffo and Viney, but I really want to see Jeffo and JVR try to get some mojo going...would rather see Jeffo in than JVR though really.

Just what I would consider but not expecting this to be the actual changes/set-up.

Out: Lindsay, Langford

In: Viney, Laurie

FB: McVee May Lever

HB: Bowey Turner Salem

C: Langdon Oliver Windsor

HF: Chandler Petty Sparrow

FF: Pickett JvR Fritsch

R: Gawn Petracca Rivers

I: Melksham Viney Laurie Howes

S: Tholstrup

Love both Langford and Lindsay and they will both be critical parts of our team moving forward. However it's a long year and it looks like they're starting to tire after nearly 3 months of senior footy. I know the bye is after the next game but feel they could benefit from a break now.

Tholstrup had a good first half but only had two touches in the entire second half. Like the energy he brings but not sure he's ready to run out full games yet after an interrupted pre-season. Should have a good impact coming on as sub.

I didn't mind the move of Windsor to half back to start the year but feel it's not a move that's working for us. Howes coming into the back half allows Windsor to be released back to the wing where he can be more damaging. Langdon has been playing well as a high half forward line and evidently a tagger is part of his kit as well. Would like him to move back to a wing to fill the absent spots created by Lindsay and Langford's omission. Either that or we consider bring Billings in for that role who has good form at Casey. I'd prefer Langdon though.

Viney (if fit and able) back to his tagging role on ball and Laurie to play as a high half forward.

Jefferson on the cusp but surely we don't throw JvR out again after one week.

He has been abysmal all season and should not be played again. He is not the answer long-term and we might be able to get something from trading.

Tom McDonald should be playing and now the season is done we should see whether M. Jefferson can do the trick. I stood next to him today in the Betty Cuthbert room and he is one tall fellow which doesn’t mean he will work but he has the height.

I especially like D. Turner today who can take some great marks. But they should leave him in defence.

Petty is also not the answer down forward - he is quite languid and doesn’t seem to be able to hold his marks.

Surely Petty is dropped?

Not sure if it would be worth trying TMac at Fwd.

Petty should become May's replacement eventually. Stop with the experiment at Fwd.

Diabolical fixturing not to give us a bye now, but instead a road trip off a 6 day break, followed by two more road trips.

Standard.

Our older players need to be on some sort of rotation policy for the remainder of the season. Adam’s and Jefferson and others need games in the seniors this year.

Until we can't make the finals we have to continue picking best 22. However, I want to see Jefferson and JVR in the same team, with Melk, Fritsch and Kozzie playing around them. I know these two younger boys haven't shown too much but I still believe they can.

No change Nashman? You want to persist with JVR? No room for Jeffo??

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
