Never looked like winning at the death, just a comedy of errors and no finesse.

[censored] this corrupt joke of a [censored] competition.

And Daicos you are a soft [censored]. Should be ashamed of your carry on like you’re a ballerina.

FUUUUUUUUCK

CRUCIFIED!!h

Kudos ... umpires.

Protect the species at all costs ... [censored]

We deserved to win that. Loved our intent, our pressure and spirit for the day.

We lost because they took their chances, where we did not.

3 points umps.

We lost because we cannot convert I50, a problem that has been ongoing for the last 3 years.

Umpiring was average but this is not on them.

Dill is in trouble. Got his grubs to get pies across the line. Dill needs big $’s surplus to hide his other failures of which there are many

4th time in 6 years we've lost on this public holiday having dominated general play

For my own wellbeing I’m glad I’m not there.

A lot to unpack here.

Dainty Daicos is is a deadset protected species.

We were in it to the very end.

Proud of the effort but we are so dumb when it comes to disposal. Umpires were an absolute disgrace. There re 4 of the bastards and still they can’t get it right. Kozzie ill discipline and Fritters selfishness cost us.

And the deciding factor…….the umpiring. It’s a blight on this great game, and the voices that matter aren’t allowed to talk about it.

Great effort. We brough the heat all day

We do a lot right but unfortunately we are not able to get full reward for that effort.

Watch smart players like Sidebottom and pendles. Always take the right option and execute.

That’s the difference.

And AFL. the umpiring is putrid. Not sure why you fat cats get paid when you refuse to sort out a fundamental component of the game. Shame on you

I can’t stand watching this game anymore . The corruption is so blatantly obvious.

They played there part @Jibroni

Don't be fooled.

The umpiring was [censored] atrocious but jesus we are terrible in close matches. We lose basically every game that's decided by less than a goal.

We had more than enough opportunities in the last few minutes

Thought the coaching was good, Langdon on Daicos the media darling was a great move. Composure going inside fifty still a major problem.

Also it's interesting how umpires in a number of sports wear the black and white, while in the AFL they just have them play for them.

I hope May gets dropped. Going Gawn after the siren for his missed kick. That’s not the love Melbourne plays with. Bring back TMac.

And how much of an [censored] are you going to feel when you learn he was trying to console Max?

The Demons return to town fresh off a thumping win over the back-to-back wooden spooners, the West Coast Eagles, played in front of a sparse crowd at Marvel Stadium, the same venue that hosted last week's heartbreaking loss.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
