Not sure those in jumpers know much better

Something magical needs to happen and soon.

It's not like these guys can't play football... just that our game isn't much chop !!

Go us

Basically, a lot of people have to do their jobs a hell of a lot better than they are doing them right now, right across the board.

2 weeks in a row we've copped umpire 22.

Richie Benaud would love it, but I imagine he'd be on his own in that regard.

I’d argue, it’s the players attitude and fitness that isn’t much chop. Saw more spirit 12 years ago.

Over here for the game. Went for a walk mid morning. It’s going to be hot.

The Bombers supporters I am surrounded by are less optimistic than I am about the result. Which is saying something.

2012, round 10, winless Dees came up against 2nd on the ladder Bombers. Need, yet to record a win, swung Garland forward and he kicked 2 goals in the last to win the match for us. I missed the game for a friend of a friend's bucks party and won a ps3 as part of the deal.

I'll be missing tonight's game because it's the first night of Passover and I'll be with my family. I'll be sure to keep an eye on the game though. Is Goodwin capable of unconventional moves? Doubtful! Is there a chance we can win? Absolutely!

Go Dees!

We will win this clash and go on to greater glory over the next four weeks.

So how are we going to kick a winning score?

Learnings….

But our learnings aren’t accurate enough! So we’ve got no chance!!

I was at that Game. For some reason, I had a gut feeling we’d win.

This year, not so much!

Those who don’t revel in abject pessimism will give DL a wide berth. I’m in that camp, but clearly I’m also a masochist 🤪

No doubt then you will enjoy demonland and the game with a smile.

I should be in a pub with a beer

I assume that’s a joke.

What a false dawn that win was against us in round 2.

more likely from the comeback loss against us late last year

it's been reasonably well expected for a while that he wasn't leaving; was just a question of how big the deal was to get him to stay

turned out be big!

Like Ritchie, umpire 22 is dead to us as well, - unlike Ritchie, 22 unfortunately keeps haunting us.

First day back at work and I’ll be coming home to a 2 week old baby and a tired mother.

my kingdom for a win & 3 melb bitter stubbies with a sleeping baby on my chest.

As Meatloaf said, 2 out of 3 ain't bad

Man I am dreading this game

Losing will be bad enough but the way we play is just painful to watch

C'mon Demons, give us something to cheer about!

Having looked at the bombers line up, I feel a bit more confident. Average midfield,

they are missing Parish, Caldwell, Wright, Langford etc

Maybe we are a chance?

You're kidding!

Anyone else remember the game against the Bombers last year? We got seven goals up, then the Dons came back in a hurry and got very close, and it was largely because of Umpire 22. I was there. [censored] that guy.

With Carlton on the board, the AFL media will go into overdrive on Goodwin if we lose

Longest. Day. Ever. EVER.

Actually, second longest; the last Saturday in September 2021 was the longest.

I just wanna hear our song after the match. I don’t care how we win, it can be ugly af, just wanna hear our song.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
