Pairing ANB with Tracc is not a silly move by Adelaide as ANB created a great synergy with how well he performed the support roll. I am comforted by the fact that Hawthorn survived Buddy leaving and Brisbane was a basket case when Fagan arrived. Track is not Buddy, and we are not as [censored] as Brisbane was.

Some of your ‘facts’ are closer to unsubstantiated tripe than accurate accounts. These mythical ‘facts’ were successfully busted this time last year!

Name one that was successfully busted. I know they are all true for a fact.

Let's just make sure his new club pays every cent of his salary, and secondly that we get a decent return for him.

I hope his erratic kicking and petulant behaviour continue wherever he ends up.

Unlike ANB, he will be leaving a slightly sour taste behind.

MFC still is in a strong bargaining position regardless if Trac going to the Crows is good for MFC playing group, culture etc. (Thanks for nothing btw, ANB)

Trac is a top-shelf medallist. How many top shelf medallists do the crows have?

Dawson, Thilthorp, Rankine only to be considered.

Same for GC, only Matt Rowell or Noah Anderson to be considered.

or 2 x top10 draft pics not watered down, but actual top 10s

End of.

not going to happen

Crows have 1 medallist and that is ANB.

GC have 1 in Rioli.

These players mentioned apart from Rowell have f all medals.

No doubt all the reasons we know. A few we don’t. And a few random factors like his girlfriend wants to live in Noosa. I feel like the club is well aware.

And I’m betting on the Suns making it work. The AFL will move heaven to get him there. The club seems to be handling it well.

Busted Tracc. 😂😂😂

"The issue

What does a one-pan Honey Ginger Stir-fry and the next Adelaide Crows premiership have in common?

Christian Petracca.

We want him. We need him. Let’s get him.

You don’t have to scroll too far in the AFL app stats to see it: Adelaide’s record-breaking plummet from minor premiers to straight-sets heartbreak wasn’t just bad luck. It was a lack of midfield class. It was a lack of experience. It was missing On Trac.

And the rumours are swirling again, that Christian Petracca, Norm Smith medallist, A-Grade midfielder, masterchef, wants a fresh start. What better place than Adelaide?

We’ve got Tasting Australia. We’ve got the Central Markets. The best seafood in the country (with a tasty side of algae). And best of all, you’re kilometres away from the sheer arrogance of Collingwood and Hawthorn, or the farm-loving Cats.

It’s time to right a wrong. Danger sold his soul to the dark side in 2015. Now we can finally replace him with an A-Grade midfield star.

Christian Petracca. Let’s get him in Crows colours.

Sign up today, and then it’s over to you, Reidy"

I am really confused about how a person can sign a contract for x amount of years for $$$ .

He the wants out , BUT the Club (i.e.MFC in this case) are duty bound to continue to pay that player.

Could someone please explain how we could be paying a "wantouta" or "renegger" his salary and getting nothing back.

What is the point of a legal contract ????

Not sure what you are suggesting here?

If Trac is meeting his obligations under the agreement, i.e. "turn up to training, turn up to gameday, play football" then what does it matter if he "wants out" or not? how are we currently or potentially getting "nothing back" moving forward from trac?

Legal contracts need 3 things - an offer, acceptance and consideration.

The "point" of the legal contract in this case is that we hold the power in this situation. Don't want to trade him? Then we don't. Do want to trade him? Then we ultimately decide what we get in return.

I dislike Trac as much as anyone right now, but don't conflate that with your lack of understanding on how contracts a work.

It's a good question and needs to be forwarded to Dillion and the AFLPA

Dimmy wasn't suggesting anything or commenting on Trac. He was simply saying he was confused and asking how these player contracts worked. He won't be alone in that.

There are large slabs of these contracts that I at least, know nothing about. For example, while a club can hold a player to their contract, what protections has the club to be able to sack a player who fulfils "turn up to training, turn up to gameday, play football" but makes bugger-all effort or undermines the club in some way? There must be some, but I suspect it's a lawyers picnic if it ever went to court.

You will have to do your own reading on this site, I'm not going to hold your hand on this one!

Tracc felt let down by the club and so did his family in relation to his injury. And Max telling him to stop complaining when he had a broken spleen. Facts.

He learned that while he was actually thinking he may die and was getting an infusion that was described as life saving, there was no contact from the club, only a tweet saying he would be back in six to eight weeks and thus realised that even as a generational talent for the club he was just considered cattle. Facts.

Haha. Max told him to stop complaining and the club didn’t immediately suspect he was seriously injured… what does that tell you about Trac?

I love Trac, hoped he’d stay. But also somewhat glad he’s going, probably like most of the club.

Just to switch the narrative, what if May and Petracca aren't the problem? Just saying. Looking forward and all...

One part of a team obsessed with winning and success and another aspect of the team - laughed off as a bit naughty -turning up to preseason camp with corel cuts all over their feet and no shoes (media supported at the time)

Last years coach!!??

After Matt Crouch retired this year, #5 is available!!!

All signs point to an exit ➡️

Fate or coincidence?

😆

I just cannot see another club paying for his huge wage unless he takes a pay cut. What has Adelaide,Fremantle and G.C got to offer us that is reasonable compensation.? At his peak we could have got two first rounders, however that is not going to be the case. We should not offered Kozzie so much as we would have more money to attract good players.

I refuse to even open that thread. Mods should have deleted that the moment it was posted.

Hear me out. If Trac gets to the Suns (better for us trade wise), and JUH also gets there (reports he has travelled there to 'reignite' his career - which is a somewhat good move, although I am not sure the Gold Coast is the best place for him, but certainly interstate is best for a fresh start)...

... then that means Trac will have to play in a team with a culture/standards issue FOR SURE. Something it he has been grappling with.

The Suns can do the funniest thing right now.

Just now, titan_uranus said:

It's about the most outrageous claim Tom Morris has ever made, which is saying something and i don't blame him because it's not him on his own pushing this.

Trac could have declared his love for the club at the best and fairest and this conversation wouldn't happen

the MFC not getting on their hands and knees and begging him to stay publicly isn't the same as pushing him out.

Reinvention on the fly....

Stories of convenience..

The only hard facts about the 🎪🤡🎪 is what you see at the END !!

Pretty much what happened between Norf and Stephenson and Polec @sue. Your point is well made. But as @Smokey points out above, so long as a player performs again their contract obligations, there's not much a club can do. Stephenson and Polec ended up rotting in the reserves on half a million a year (conservatively). Giving Trac the benefit of the doubt, for all his character defects, I doubt this would be a likely outcome should he stay at the Deez.

FWIW, for all the diabolical postings on this thread about Trac's character and behaviour, I have no doubt the breakdown is equally shared between a dysfunctional club and a highly, emotionally irregulated, player.

“Disco” took his time (four seasons) but the mid-season draftee has been a shining light of Melbourne's campaign, improving to become a versatile option at either end of the ground. He has great marking skills which allows him to play as a marking target up forward or an intercepting defender down back.
