There have been some blatant ones in our forward 50 in the last five minutes too.

I think they pulled 3 Selwood specials in a row then nothing for us.

Another goal secures the points for Geelong who were too strong in that final term. Cats by 16 points.

Be the same in the 1s. Umps do want their car keys back.

Disappointing fade-out by Casey, after being very competitive for all of the first three quarters.

Fullarton staked a claim with 5 goals and some solid work around the ground (but did no ruckwork).

PS. Verrall is improving.

disappointing to lose, but lots to like about fullarton, sestan, bits of aj's game, and bit's of pup brown's game in particular i thought

laurie did some good things but some dumb things, and howes gets a lot of the football, turns a lot of it over

culley will be interesting to watch as he gets some footy under his belt in 2025

Not fit enough in the last Quarter sadly. Our whole fitness program needs to be looked at throughout the whole club

Some good performances up forward for 3 Quarters

That goal was a result of another hack and hope from Howes. He continually panics and dumps the ball anyway he can away from his area.

Whenever Howes gets a possession I hope he at least kicks it out on the full

Better result than hitting the opposition on the chest

Wow, was Fullarton’s game as good as it looks?

He should’ve had 3 in the first quarter – didn’t get any. 4 in the second though.

Missed two sitters from about 15 metres and dropped a chest mark, so instead of 5 goals, he could have had 8 goals. A good game.

That’s good news. How was Laurie?

very laurie - serviceable as an inside mid at vfl level but not knocking the door down, and will likely never get a chance at that role as primary inside mid at afl level

I thought he was poor and looked disinterested. Poor disposal and his opponents dominated in clearances.

Aside from a 10 minute period I thought Woey was ordinary and Billings is a complete turnover merchant.

I think all three will leave at season end.

I thought AJ tried hard and Jed Adams is improving.

Too sophisticated for the denizens at the cattery. Give them curds and whey.

Where did Verrall play please. Is he a chance in a non ruck playing position.

Played in ruck when TC went off.

TBH he couldn’t do worse than our fumbling forwards atm and the ball wouldn’t be kicked to him either.

He did ok. Kicked a goal and he is an ok kick. Not setting the world on fire but he might just need a breakout game.

How did Jai Culley go?

I assume he was on limited minutes due to recovering from his foot injury.

Hopefully he plays a full game for Casey next week in the VFL.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
