whoever he is he’s pathetic too…did you see how the ball slipped off their boots?  he was probably moved over from the laundry department and clearly hasn’t got a clue!

A little bit of column a and column b. In other words Chaplin has his say but Goodwin would have the final say.

When the midfielders learn to lower their eyes and hit their targets, it'll make everybody else's job easier.

It might help the midfielders if the forwards learn to lead and block for each other.

I blame Reece Conca. He’s great at his job but hey, why not add him to the firing line?

I also blame Alyssa Bannan and Ari, the two people that organise the kids in the guard of honour.

And we can throw in our mascots for good measure.

And don’t get me started on that cheer squad of ours.

PATHETIC, THE LOT OF ‘EM

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!

Starting to think Werridee is a parody account.

Or maybe an agent provocateur sent to entrap dissidents.

Engage sarcasm mode;

IF ONLY WE COULD FIND AND RE-ENGAGE THE LINE COACH WHO LAID THE GROUNDWORK FOR OUR POWERFUL OFFENSIVE GAME BACK BEFORE WE LOST HOGAN AND SHIFTED OUR FOCUS TO DEFENCE.

ffs people.

I'm ready to start rants that would get bleeped out on Shoresy, nevermind [censored] on Demonland.

Why on earth is he the forwards coach? Never played forward in his life. I can't believe we can't find a forwards coach that played as a forward. He will end Goodwin's career, no wonder Fritsch, Turner and van Rooyen look clueless out there you can't teach something you have never experienced.

You’re the one making these so called ‘best 22’s every week since October…

They are not the best 22…and certainly not on the weekend…

Im beginning to think you have no idea what you are doing

A fair few haven’t been keeping their feet, so I reckon it’s high time the boot studder is put under the microscope too

With all due...

How does your rant answer the query ?

You DO understand footy.... quite well.

So why , in your estimation , is Chaplin still a fwd coach.

Observationally...he ain't that good

Cheers

You’ve got your own thread created for you purely to post your best 22s. Doesn’t that tell you how most Demonlanders feel about your best 22s?

Well said Ghosty!🤩

I blame one of our sponsors for our start to the year.

I have had Hertz storage trucks drive past me during the week leading into games, let me elaborate.

I've seen one on the Friday before the GWS game and one on Saturday before the Roos game both resulting in loses.

This is not a weekly occurrence either, straight out of the blue right in time for footy season.

But wait there's more, I saw two Hertz trucks today.

I don't know what the two Hertz truck sightings mean today.

I'm hoping they counteract each other and it means a win for Saturday.

But if it doesn't I might lock myself up and not come out of home for a while.

That's how well I'm holding up mentally at the moment.

Don't you just love footy!

And you reckon Goody and Chaplin are instructing the players to bomb long to 2 and 3 vs 1 contests?

In Round 1, there was decidedly more space in our forwardline and we moved the ball well.

It's on the players.

I’m in the “It’s time for Goodwin to go” camp but let’s not forget Chris Fagan never played AFL / VFL. Whilst we have line coaches Goodwin is ultimately responsible for the style of footy we play and needs to accept responsibility for what we served up yesterday.

Why is it on one or the other? Why can't it be both? If the message isn't getting across to the players maybe the coaches should find a job. It will be on the players now. Woewodin and Howes had enough chances to hold a spot in the team haven't done it. McDonald time to retire won't be around next year. Bowey could be finding another home at the end of the year. They are 4 players that should be dropped and there maybe more.

Does playing in that position have a bearing on the quality of your coaching?

Ever seen a small forward be a Ruck Coach?

Jones and Bassett are safe because they are new and at least they played the position they are coaching.

Bassett was forwards coach at both Essendon and Port.

Wouldn’t mind Tom Hawkins. He had some great points when he was commentating on our game.

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG to face the Tigers in their annual Blockbuster on ANZAC Eve for the 10th time. The Dees will be desperate to reignite their stuttering 2025 campaign and claim just their second win of the season. Can the Demons dig deep and find that ANZAC Spirit to snatch back to back wins?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
