Seriously this time... Been a while since I've been to a game at Colonial Stadium

I got 2 X Kids GA tickets in my MFC App, if I buy myself a single GA, where would we end up getting a seat...?

Should we GA or Reserved?

GA at Marvel varies according to who the home club is. It's generally level 3 except for the front few rows. Low supported clubs like North sometimes open up areas on level one. It'd pay you to walk around the concourse and see if such areas are available.

I just don't see our side being as good as I thought we might be over summer. Seems we are back to relying on players who having proven to be B talents over last few years.

I tend to agree.

I think our best 18 is pretty strong, especially the backs and mids, but we fall away quickly with some very average players.

I can't get excited by Jefferson, Turner, Johnson, Chandler and a few others.

I'm excited by Sparrow looking like he's playing very well again, if our premiership players can get back to their best it will go a long way, we have a few of them.

Stiff for Langford to be sub then dropped, was hoping to see him play a full game but hopefully soon enough.  Hope he rips it up at Casey!

Agree on Langford

Tough to start in Q4 on a cold wet day into a high intensity day, but he did look at a different pace

He'll be a 200+ game player, but just needs a bit more time.  He's got all the size and mobility basics, just needs more instinctive see ball, get ball and quick disposal

Whenever I'm in Melbourne I'll grab a GA ticket and see an extra game at the Dome. Typically there are always empty seats all over the place and once you're in you can just sit wherever isn't taken. I wouldn't stress too much about finding 3 seats together for this fixture haha

Marvel just announced that aisles (bays) 2 - 8 are general admission (Bourke St. end). Our cheer squad will be in aisle 1

Spargo was a big favourite of mine in 21 but his form has fallen away sharply since then. Would be great for the team if he can get back to his 21 level of performance

I'd like to this the difference is the injury he was managing before they conceded and went under the knife

I wouldn’t be smiling if I’m 30 years old, un-contracted at the end of year and can’t get a game despite a quarter of the list being unavailable

He is a poor kick that is the reason he was in the same position at the saints.

it's really not

Every thing is better than level 3 IMO. As the ageing process sets in the higher you have to climb becomes an issue. Then you cannot see the action as well and end up watching on the big screen.Might as well be at home with the associated comforts. I go to the G when I can sit in level 1 no pies or tigers games.

Sparrow played very well last week and in practice matches

I am still anticipating Spazza cracking four or five great games in a row, hard tackles emerging with the ball, hitting targets hand and foot, kicking a swag of great goals. I reckon he can be a great footballer, but as yet, has not broken out of the plastic bag in which he is restrained ... lacking confidence across the game, hamstrung by something in his instructions so far.  I live in hope for him.

I know this will be howled down but TMac is too good to not have in the 22. If May comes back I’d be moving Petty forward. AJ was poor in the ruck against Brown and JvR is much better. Jeffo has no intensity and I’d prefer Turner and Petty to AJ and Jeffo.
If Spargs is ready he’s a class above Hendo.
Wont happen, but that’s my take.

I was happy to select TMac in last week with Jeffo and AJ forward.

I had Petty as emergency and reckon this is an ideal situation as he can cover either defender or forward

That's not the reason.  He's soft.

No worries...it was always a "thereabouts comment" but I was always a fan and do remember extensive time in the twos so highpicks playing in the VFL is not necessarily harshand am hoping Langford reaches his full potential..maybe lose a couple  of kgs, gain pace  muscle tone, and defensive skills..I am sure they look at the draft for potential ... Oliver shot up the ranks in his draft year and was in it almost as an unknown..was chubby to say the least!!

A perfect day tomorrow for afternoon football at the empty MCG and we will be under the lights of a closed roof

Decided against finding crappy GA seats on level 3 with my 12 year old - bought upgraded seats - level 2 centre wing for $67 adult and $33 junior - best seats in the house can't complain

There is an undeniable collective statistical decline of the core group that delivered the 2021 premiership and still plays in 2024. This drop in output—particularly among key midfielders and defenders—has not been offset by the emergence of new talent. While a few players have shown modest improvement, no incoming player has matched the impact or consistency of the premiership players still on the list creating a widening performance gap that has contributed to the club’s overall stagnation and regression across key indicators. We'll see in the next few months if this trend is reversing.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
