BT talking to Richardson in the centre.

I approached BT and said, “Hi, BT. I’m roaming Ghosty.” He said, “Oh no” and actually looked a little frightened 😅 and much to my disappointment he was really nice. I hate it when that happens.

All 23 plus emergencies - Campbell, TMac and Billings.

Initially the Casey boys were doing a light run before their practice match against Coburg tomorrow. They were then joined by the AFL listed boys who will join them.

Hopefully Spargs will get a full game in tomorrow.

I shared a bench with Brian Taylor, who had the binoculars out. He then joined Alan Richardson and went to the middle of the ground to chat with Nathan Jones.

BT didn't escape the Ghostwriter so she can report further on his motivations for attending our Captain's Run - maybe getting clearance for Roaming Brian at some stage?

Ive just had an inspired thought, Roaming Ghosty and Picket Fence, after the game segment to be called "When its all said and done" with Ghosty and Fence LIVE!🤪😇👀🫦👅🫣😎🥰😇

Stick to the fishing PF.

Thanks Ghostwriter, Kev Martin, Harvey Wallbanger and all posters and special comments, good to hear everyone in good spirits and humour. Big day tomorrow particularly with 6 debutantes, I wish them all the best and I am looking forward to seeing them all run out onto the G Tomorrow. Go Dees.❤️💙

We got there this morning. First time at Goschs paddock. Had no idea were it was so took a few wrong turns. Son got a picture with Nathan Jones to send to daughter in Perth, goes with her many selfies with him from years of Mooloolaba training sessions. Have only ever been to training a few times so I don't really have a great reference point, but to me Jeffo looked very nervous and like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Don't know if that is just him normally, but I really hope he can relax and have a great debut.

What happened to your idea of doing a podcast?

Also, you expect me to consider the idea of a post-game segment with you when you leave the apostrophe out of the title?

PS: I’ve told Jeffo about you in the past, about how you’re a big fan of his and how you’ve been gunning for his selection for ages, etc. Today I told him my mate (that’s you PF. I pretended we’re friends) is rapt that he’s been named. He said, “He’ll be behind the goals with you?” I said, “Nah, he’s not even going to be at the game.” He nodded slowly and had the look on his face of Cool, my biggest fan won’t even be there. Shame on you PF! 😝

That’s regulation Jeffo. He always looks like that. It’s funny you mentioned him looking nervous because the last thing I said to him today was “No need to be nervous, Matty. You’ve got this!” He said, “I’ll try (to not be nervous), we’ll see how I go.” But yeah, he’d be nervous.

I went for a jaunt down to training. Unfortunately, didn’t get to see much as the players were all busy hugging some creepy person.

Beautiful kick though.

Hmmmm that’s strange. I was there the entire time and I didn’t see the players hugging a creepy person 🤔

Very relaxed session again.

All Casey players were out, (joined by the AFL Casey after there meeting), then AFL strolled onto the paddock.

The players ran the GW gauntlet with humour and fun.

Very few with numbers on, mainly the training singlets.

No sight of Jamar. Whelan was helping, first time I'd seen him for a while. Jones spent time with Henderson.

BT talking to Richardson in the centre.

A couple doing some runs, a group with a soccer ball, others gathering the low ball with a trainer, the rest goal kicking (many joined in later).

Last out there, Tracc, Oliver, Henderson and Bowey.

At the moment Mark Jamar is only scheduled to participate in one training a week which will be main training👍🏼

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
