Yeah itโ€™s a [censored] deal but itโ€™s technically three first round picks as Brad enunciated and you can trade two years in advance.

future pics are always going to be discounted as to their value because of the risk aspect. 2 years out even moreso

and if any future picks falls into the period of tassie preference picks, then forget it

A good statement that should take the heat off the club (and player) as the season unfolds. The ball is now in the Freo/WC court and we shouldnโ€™t need to comment further. Well done Brad. Feel free to further comment the next time the club is unfairly impacted by AFL iniquity (think Piebunal). Weโ€™re tired of being the AFL and media doormats.

He also said we would do what was in the best interest of the club.

...and I think that is the point.

Not the 3 picks.

Fantastic read. Open and honest and forward looking. Club seem to be handling the PR side of things very well this season.ย

Brads statements are not rough around the edges Thsts the beauty of them NO EDGESย

Straight and direct as he played no nonsense. Like it or not you know the score and we wont surrender to WA on their terms. We are on the march back to the Club we were just after our 2021 triumph.

Look at what has happened in the last 12 months. Pretty impressive where we stand today. Yes our results are crucial and our brand of footy so important but I feel ย we are undoubtedly up to it.

This after Dogga going back for a motherโ€™s wish is a different kind of family matter. However it needs to be addressed as the scenario is different to say Nibbla in years of service. Itโ€™s words yes but we are not going to capitulate to these arrogant self righteous western groups for a pittance. And leave your bloody hands off our players !!ย

Article covers a few things - Green's role/life, Trac, Oliver, Culture, Gameplan Caulfield project etc, but the bit people will be talking about its this
ย

Pickettโ€™s future

Pickett last week addressed persistent reports that heโ€™d texted friends at Fremantle that heโ€™d join them at the Dockers next year, conceding he was homesick at times. Green did not shut down the speculation.

โ€œThe Kozzy Pickett scenario, people will talk about that all year. I think weโ€™re always about the player first. We love Kozzy as a teammate, he is such a lovable character around the place,โ€ Green said.

โ€œThe thing that our members and supporters have got to know is if they (reports) come to fruition and he wants to go to Perth, then weโ€™re going to be OK. Heโ€™s got three years on his contract, so weโ€™re going to get two or three first round draft picks.

โ€œSo we either keep the player that we love and respect โ€“ and we want him to stay โ€“ but if for family reasons he wants to go back, thatโ€™s OK. Fremantle or West Coast or any other club can come up with three first round draft picks or heโ€™s not going anywhere. I can tell you that โ€“ heโ€™s not going anywhere unless we as a club get a deal we want.โ€

That is powerful statement that from Greeny on the front foot and smashed it back over the bowlers head for MAXIMO. (6)

Polite and honest as ever, we all love and cherish Kozzie no doubt, all good if he wants to go home.

Guess what though Freo its going to cost you the house and your farm also.

Love it.โค๏ธ

Could you imagine Kate saying something like this.๐Ÿคฆ

What a circus it was under her watch.

f me sideways.

At last there is some backbone at boardroom level to lay out a marker to the footballing world that we aren't going to be pushed around and pillaged.

Freo have so much confidence in the direction their footy club is headed that they placed their head coach on a 12 month employee based contract.

To save themselves some coin if it goes [censored] up. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Its also a message to kozzies mgmt that your wasting your clients time unless the clubs have the collateral. They know from theย  situation on tracc and clayton last year we will hold players if need be

Future picks are meaningless when the AFL change the rules as they go.

We've got Jai Culley because an early Carlton draft pick did their knee. We missed a gun accademy player because the AFL changed the rules before the draft.

Richmond are almost certain to be hopeless this year and next. North didn't run out the prac match against us. Who knows what the AFL will do for them to dilute future drafts

Exactly, players have too much power. Or perhaps it's their agents.

He stuffed up saying 2 or 3 first round picks. That means 2.

I think he means pick 1 and 2 would get it done.

Round 1 quality varies so 2 very good or 3 overall.ย

I think that's fine, well done Greeny.

Brad rang him asked him โ€œWhat was going on โ€œ (Iโ€™m paraphrasing here). Told Clarry he was going to get up at B&F and make a statement that the 2025 midfield would be Gawn Trac Oliver & Viney. Clarry said donโ€™t itโ€™s not about me tonight but the players who are winning awards. Brad said no itโ€™s not about you but about the members ..supporters who need to know this . He said I love you ..we love you etc etc ..Clarrie was emotional and signed off with โ€œI love you Greenie โ€œ.

Further to my above post.., Green said, โ€˜What I want to tell you right now Clarry is that I love you, I love you being part of this club, and you are going to be an all-time great.ย

โ€œI said you will be in the hall of fame, and you are not going anywhere, and that is OK.ย

โ€œAnd he said back, โ€˜I love you, Greenyโ€™, and that was it. He was happy.โ€

Nothing wrong with that from Green

Green is one of our big assets; he's a thinker, a communicator, writes well and hits the nails with tact and yet, decisiveness; operates in his realm with measure and intent. Just like he did as a great footballer with the team.ย

I think it was not only a heart-felt, but also an extremely smart and well planned statement by Greeny. Anyone that wants to listen, wonโ€™t bother with any more โ€œOliver and Trac are wanting to leaveโ€ shiiite. And now the focus is not so much on Kossy, nor the MFC, but on Freo and WC. We have got on the front foot for once, which is a really pleasing change. The statement as a whole shows that despite the BS media [censored], we are a united and focused club. And who better to say all this than our President!ย

This is a reminder why we shouldn't take Collingwood rejects. Pert and Neild should never have come to the club. I wont name the players because they tried but there is a long list...

Brad Green bleeds red and blue and we are a better club for him being a gun footballer, person, captain and president

Except JT who we head hunted

I'm liking what Brad is doing, although I'm not sure putting a specific high price on Kozzy was such a good idea. I get that it was probably an exaggeration, but it would have been smarter to say "If Kozzy does desperately want to go home at season's end, then whichever club he nominates needs to understand we will not be compromised on any deal, which could involve multiple high draft picks or an A grader with a similar age profile."
