GBDee 388 Posted February 28 Posted February 28 A good statement that should take the heat off the club (and player) as the season unfolds. The ball is now in the Freo/WC court and we shouldn’t need to comment further. Well done Brad. Feel free to further comment the next time the club is unfairly impacted by AFL iniquity (think Piebunal). We’re tired of being the AFL and media doormats. 8 3 Quote

Green did not shut down the speculation. “The Kozzy Pickett scenario, people will talk about that all year. I think we’re always about the player first. We love Kozzy as a teammate, he is such a lovable character around the place,” Green said. “The thing that our members and supporters have got to know is if they (reports) come to fruition and he wants to go to Perth, then we’re going to be OK. He’s got three years on his contract, so we’re going to get two or three first round draft picks. “So we either keep the player that we love and respect – and we want him to stay – but if for family reasons he wants to go back, that’s OK. Fremantle or West Coast or any other club can come up with three first round draft picks or he’s not going anywhere. I can tell you that – he’s not going anywhere unless we as a club get a deal we want.” That is powerful statement that from Greeny on the front foot and smashed it back over the bowlers head for MAXIMO. (6) Polite and honest as ever, we all love and cherish Kozzie no doubt, all good if he wants to go home. Guess what though Freo its going to cost you the house and your farm also. Love it.❤️ Edited February 28 by YesitwasaWin4theAges 2 Quote

At last there is some backbone at boardroom level to lay out a marker to the footballing world that we aren't going to be pushed around and pillaged. Freo have so much confidence in the direction their footy club is headed that they placed their head coach on a 12 month employee based contract. We've got Jai Culley because an early Carlton draft pick did their knee. We missed a gun accademy player because the AFL changed the rules before the draft. Richmond are almost certain to be hopeless this year and next. North didn't run out the prac match against us. Who knows what the AFL will do for them to dilute future drafts 1 Quote

Neil Crompton 5,852 Posted February 28 Posted February 28 I think it was not only a heart-felt, but also an extremely smart and well planned statement by Greeny. Anyone that wants to listen, won’t bother with any more “Oliver and Trac are wanting to leave” shiiite. And now the focus is not so much on Kossy, nor the MFC, but on Freo and WC. We have got on the front foot for once, which is a really pleasing change. The statement as a whole shows that despite the BS media [censored], we are a united and focused club. At the break of Gawn 4,513 Posted February 28 Posted February 28 (edited) I'm liking what Brad is doing, although I'm not sure putting a specific high price on Kozzy was such a good idea. I get that it was probably an exaggeration, but it would have been smarter to say "If Kozzy does desperately want to go home at season's end, then whichever club he nominates needs to understand we will not be compromised on any deal, which could involve multiple high draft picks or an A grader with a similar age profile."
