Can see Jai adding a lot and taking the pressure off Clarry, Trac and Vines winning the hard ball in the middle

    Jai will most likely play at Casey. We all hope that won’t be the case but the odds point there. Feels like he’s fighting for Sparrows spot which is also uncertain.

    No I don’t think he is fighting for Spaz’s spot Roost it far, Tommy is smaller and faster and is now battle hardened and I am expecting him to get a bigger role going forward. Jai is a much bigger unit at 194cm inside mid forward, he is basically the same height as Rooey, Disco, Jefferson and Luker Kentfield, plus he is well developed after being on an AFL list for a number of years. If he can recapture his earlier form he and Langford could really boost our midfield group.

    I think it will come down to how Jai continues to perform in the Casey midfield, but if he regains his former touch he provides coverage for our three big mids in Tracc, Clayton and Riv plus Langford. Virtually an Ace in the hole.!!

    Unlike some who appear to have clairvoyant powers or believe in  JC’s second coming. I shall await ‘proof in the pudding’. Like for like? Luke Dunstan. Fills a need if injuries (God forbid) occur amongst the mid-field first chosen.

    He does feel like a younger version of Dunstan.

    Maybe it's just too hypothetical but I was against the Dunstan pick up but after a year of Demons conditioning and game plan work he seemed ready to come in and give us a little bit of something right before he did his knee. Maybe nothing more than just a few games worth of throwing his body around and a fresh midfield look, but that could've been useful. We'll  never no I guess.

    Culley's younger and with a genuine point of difference with his height. He's worth a roll of the dice even if he's just depth.

    Yes his height, strong physique and relative youth are positives. From his MFC video clip he intimated he has strengths he brings to the table. But also welcomed the opportunity to work on other aspects of his game.
     

    Luke Dunstan had no problem getting the ball, his delivery finesse and polish were probably at an optimum given his age. No further improvement was likely to happen. JC now has time and opportunity to improve his skills, fitness etc. Good luck Jai!

    I definitely agree that Culley is worth the pick. He’s big, strong, keen and a left footer.

    There’s always injuries, players unavailable for various reasons and players who lose form….Culley may not start in rd 1 but there’s a good chance we will need him at some point in the season

    Every year the sucessful teams try something different and when done effectively the other teams follow.

    Our backline is pretty tall  with Lever, May, Petty and T Mac.

    We will likely add Langford to the midfield. If Jai plays alongside Langford and Oliver in our midfield we are pretty stacked there as well.

    Could be a competetive andvantage.

    It has to upset the the opposition if your opponent is bigger than you all the time.

      Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
