Would struggle to snaffle a six-pack of Swan Lager for JVR right now.

don’t get me wrong judd is great and i’d love for him to stay but business is business and we need a key forward asap he is more then capable of doing that until max pulls the pin. JT will find another judd or two in the coming years so i wouldn’t be too worried also this frees a spot down back we really need to start getting games into the likes of sestan adams amw kento to see if they are

LJ coming back to Melbourne, what to be 2nd ruck,no chance.Gawn won't let that happen either

Relax y’all… Judd’s committed to the Dees. Expect an announcement early next week now that the talking is done and all that remains is the dotting and crossing.

That will be an excellent result Ghostwriter, he is in our must keep group going forward.😁👍

Has just put all contract negotiations on hold, a West Australian who wants to play as an attacking half back instead of a lockdown back pocket

Another unhappy Demon

Maybe we need a new coach in 2026???

he has regressed this year. injury and lack of preseason a big factor though.

It would be great if our players re-committed without fuss but that doesn't seem to the case for us

If he's uncommitted the club might have to make a hard call. We've handed out contracts recently and fair to say we have not received value. I don't want to overpay or provide a long term contract to someone who has had a poor season.

Flag hero ‘gettable’ after brutal ‘blindsiding’; revelation on Blue’s future — Trade Whispers

It is one thing if McVee is unhappy with his contract offer, it is entirely another if he is unhappy with his role in the team.

If Goodwin's obsession with playing Salem ends up costing us McVee, that should be the final nail in his coffin.

One of few players who have who is out of contract who would have value for teams to chase

The two WA clubs would be mad if they weren’t chasing him

If players are coming in... someone(s) has to leave.

Gone

No inside knowlege other than clearly not enjoying his role in the team. Likely two WA clubs know that , have had initial talks about where he would play and a rough dollar amount.

Furthermore , doesn’t even have the excuse of wanting to concentrate on his game and winning finals.

Based on who, Tom Morris….!!! bS.

The problem with persisting with our current coaching and football department personnel (not anyone specifically - just generally), is we’ll see an exodus of quality I think.

Just a general statement and not saying McVee is gone.

A wholesale makeover needed I reckon

Perfect day / week to announce he has resigned if he actually has.

I know we need changes to our list but for me Judd is one of our must keep. If I was West Coast I would be doing everything possible to get him.

I dont disagree that we need a shake up in the football department, but Judd is our only best 22 player OOC. The majority of our young talent is contracted.

Of all the potential options on our list to trade out to try to get something back, we’d be insane to release a young player who’s a good kick, can lock down on small forwards, has some pace, and who prior to his injury this summer was dominant for two years.

He is the sort of player we need to be bringing into the club, not letting go.

Hypothetical

You're a player in a 'foreign' state playing in a team whose prospects aren't looking too flash. You're asked to play a role you don't particularly find uber satisfying .

You're wind of interest from 'home'.

You decide after talking with your manager to halt current proceedings til season's end .

All hypothetical of course

I'm worried that the West Coast Eagles will request Judd McVee to walk to the Pre-season draft and we won't receive any compensation in return for McVee leaving.

However the PSD doesn't get used by the player and manager unless they feel their client has been screwed over or the asking price is too much.

That is not actually true, who have we actually lost? Any player who has come out of contract has signed.

Salem should have been dropped numerous times Has lost what ever he had in my view Rigidity is in Goodwins DNA as well as favoritism This coach is now killing players

If that were to happen, guaranteed it would happen to us and then the AFL would change the rules the year after.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
