We had some good conversations with him but he’s told us that he’s happy in Perth and will be re-signing with Freo.

He could be more happy in Melbourne, things change 💰

Nup. Never do.

As I have noted many times i decided to stop getting caught up and wound up by players leaving  or rumoured to be leaving after being devastated and furious when Gerard Healy defected to the swans.

That decision has saved me much angst over the years - not least in the last six months with all the tracc, clarry and koz want out, where there's smoke there's fire nonsense.

If he goes, he goes. Just as I said about tracc we hold the whip hand in any negotiations so we'll do fine.

Depends what having him for 3 more years is worth, besides we could always demand a player back doesn’t have to be picks, on top of that if it’s just go home then why not wc

Yeah, Harley Reid seems like a fair swap if Freo don't want to let go of Andrew Brayshaw.

We could take a leaf out of Peter Bell's book in his dealings with us for the Cerra* trade i.e. Freo' don't have the trade currency to entertain a discussion let alone a deal.

In Harry hindsight, I'm glad we missed out on Cerra and hope we miss out on Peter Bell for CEO.

They sure do. Let's see what happens. I won't be holding my breath.

If he wants to go why can’t he go to the Eagles?

He might have to... just because he wants to go to the Dockers doesn't mean they can get a deal done with 2 years running on a contract.

If they finish top 8 this season their 1st pick won't be enough, however you would think the Eagles will be in the bottom 4.

I'm still hopeful he plans to stay for at least the next 2 years, but plenty of water to go under the bridge.

I also love how the media come out and speak as if its a fait accompli, completely ignoring the fact he's contracted and not a free agent. That's the way they operate these days though, because trade talk is the number one seller of news.

I have no idea if Bell wants the Melbourne CEO role, or whether Melbourne wants Bell. But, just for the purposes of this thread discussion, let's just say that's going to happen. How should Bell deal with this latest Pickett news/gossip right now?

If he met the height requirement he’d be overqualified!

Pretty obvious it's Michael Walters in the photo, who Kozzie looks up to. If he starts liking photos of Neil Erasmus, we'll know he's gone

Good to know you don't read replies and reactions.

Can I ask you a few questions?

Why do you post a football fan forum?

Do you take the same approach to texts and emails?

Are you wanting other posters to make a note of some sort that you don't read replies and reactions?

Are you a bot?

That's a pity, I was going to offer you $1000 to expand on your thoughts ...

Anyone who openly writes that they don’t read replies or reactions is admitting that that’s all they read - and that it really affects them. Try not to take the reactions to your terrible opinions too seriously…

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
