Brad announced a review in to the board.

This reads as a review in to the club and particularly the footy department.

Neither things are a top to bottom club review that someone else wants. An idea which could be nice but was always going to be very difficult to implement quickly and just as likely delay changes.

Iโ€™m not against this at all, but the problem is weโ€™ve wasted 2+ weeks (or really closer to 2 months).

Roffey on SEN mentioned they had someone from the all blacks in at the footy department tho so maybe this is just an expansion or formal version of what was previously happening.

Iโ€™m happy for action but worried that itโ€™s coming late. The window for making list, coaching staff and footy department personnel changes is all closing rapidly.

As long as the findings don't leak out, all good. Just make the changes.

They say backflip as if the person who said we wouldn't do a review didn't just resign.

Anything for those clicks. MSM is becoming irrelevant and dying a slow death.

Was with the All blacks for 19 years, oversaw back to back world cup wins and a team that was rated No.1 for a decade.

Probably safe to say he's going to know a thing or two about professionalism and what's needed for a winning culture.

Have you seen their doco on Netflix?

Amazing content..

I would not be surprised if 'change' leads to the playing list.

@goodwindeesย latest news on Oliver makes total sense.

This is the guy that will be conducting the review.

Worth the watch.

"The All Blacks don't have a home."

Just one of the many similarities the Melbourne Football Club shares with the All Blacks.

I did wonder if this was the same guy, or if they used that contact to then bring someone else in

Whilst it's not ideal with trade week less than a month away, we can't allow another year to go by without some changes to the Football Department.

Brad Green's call for an external review makes me think that there are board members that weren't aligned with the thinking of the Football Department, and that has led to Roffey resigning.

It's just my opinion, but I can see Tim Lamb and Alan Richardson being the primary casualties of the review, and Jason Taylor taking on the list management duties in the interim. In addition to Stafford leaving, there may be changes to the assistant coaches, and potentially the high performance team. I can't see Goodwin getting the sack.

Was listening to triple M yesterday and Jay Clark and Damo Barrett stated the following

โ€ข Kate Roffey is the first of a few changes. One of those big changes is Gary Pert also being pushed out potentially.ย

โ€ข Steven Smith is pretty much in the box seat to be our next president. Will be going on a much needed holiday in the next couple of weeks after negotiating some pretty big business deals and may be announced in the back end of the year.

โ€ข Trac and Goodwin caught up at a Cafe in Armadale on Thursday and by all reports it was a positive one for both parties.

I wouldn't believe a word that either of those two muppets say. It seems all they do is lurk around forums and regurgitate rumours sprinkled with the occasional fact and then speculate on very minor yet specific details to make it seem credible.

So now we have an official external review, has anyone checked in on @Satyriconhome??

Unfortunately a review all but eliminates any shot at the flag next year imo.

We need it, for the future, but it'll be harmful for 2025.

Get Graham Wright

Will these findings become public via an official document? Or will we be drip fed from the media if at all...

Not at all. Could be a huge incentive for 2025, changes could be minimal, as long as they are the right changesโ€ฆ

He's rocking back and forth saying "Everything is fine"

If there is a review it has to be "top to bottom" as Whateley suggested to Kate. Nothing official from the Club yet. If it's happening, kudos to Deemocracy I reckon.

Then we should do it every year! Maybe even pencil in a mid year one, to make sure.

I'm very happy that Brad Green has come inย with a hands on approach with external review of the Football Department to happen immediately. It will be interesting to see changes once the review is completed.

Peter Jackson was the obvious choice to do the external review.ย We need a different approach this time and Darren Shand will deliver the structural changes, solutions and improvements for the future for a positive outlook for 2025.ย

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven Mayย

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
