Not sure if the finals can work out like this, but would love a GWS vs Hawthorn Grand Final just purely from an entertainment point of view. Would be an exciting spectacle in my opinion.

It can happen.

GWS to lose to Sydney, then beat Brisbane, then beat Port.

Hawthorn beat Dogs, then beat Geelong, then beat Sydney.

Probably that regular poster who barracks for Carlton.

That regular poster who barracks for Carlton is @No. 31 and has always been supportive of the Dees. You don’t see him bag our players like it’s a hobby. In fact, he’s more of a Dees supporter than many Dees supporters.

I don't know what it is about Jesse, but I still love him. I remember reading that he was at the 21 GF to support the boys. He left on the final siren. He was happy for us, but sad for himself.
Go Jesse. Do it for your Dad.

Thanks WCW ☺️ Even been a Dees member 2 years running 😁 My gut feeling is that the Dees bounce back next year. Sign one of the King brothers and a solid backup ruckman and MFC are flag contenders in 2025 I say 😈

Doggies pls.

1.  My best friend is a dog

2.  I had the pleasure of meetimg the Bont and he is as genuine & humble a bloke as you'll ever meet.  It was like talking to a next door neighbour yet he's a super star of the comp.  No airs, graces or pretentious stuff here.  What you see is what you get.

3.  The Doggies have taken on a few of our boys in Harmes and ginger Baker.

My next pick is GWS for Hogan & Bedford's sake.  Still hurts losing both of em.

I actually like the way Carlton play when they have a full side… can’t stand the rest of the top 8 barring GWS.

They will be a markedly different side in the first final, if they can get back a decent number of Curnow, McKay, McGovern, TDK, Saad, Marchbank, Boyd, Cerra and/or Martin.

They have no pressure, as most expected them to miss the finals altogether. They'll be underdogs against Brisbane even if they get all these players back. But their best football this year has been in the best football any side's played, and they can do damage if the release the mental shackles.

(Or alternatively they'll get pumped by Brisbane. TBH not sure.)

Getting nervous that it might be the Hawks that could go all the way. They are coming into the finals with a full head of steam having demolished a succession of teams and lost a close one to GWS. They haven’t been on TV much so I haven’t seen a lot of what their doing but they appear to be moving the ball rapidly and through the corridor at all costs. Their recruiting has concentrated on leg speed, kicking skills and quick small forwards.

Reminds me of the Dee’s campaigns in 87, 98 and 2000, the difference is we ran into genuine quality, inform sides at the pointy end of the finals. This season would be a great year to get into the finals as every side in the 8 has deficiencies and a lot have patchy form. It’s wide open for a young team in form.

Love your posts

I wish we could be clear eyed as you

Speaking to a work colleague today reflecting on the year and he remarked how he laughed when at the start of the year I said we’d miss finals. I then said I think we’ll be ok in 2025 - this year has a 2020 feel to it. Hopefully this galvanises the group.

good luck to your mob!

* bump*

The figures speak for themselves.

Over two thirds of respondents nominated GWS and almost 80% are hoping for a NSW victory.

The Bulldogs also have some friends.

Nobody wants Geelong to win.  This is very reassuring and exactly as it should be.

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
