He would have in days gone by. Big Nick was about his size.

Lego Langers 🧱

Well, it's no secret that I have concerns about this pick, but he does look like a powerful bugger and a competitive beast.  I just hope they have a plan to work on his explosiveness.  He needs to add a burst of acceleration to his repertoire.

Well I'm only half being serious. Jackson is obviously taller, but we had him in there immediately.alongside Gawn and JVR part time in his 2nd

Maybe Langford will be tall, athletic and muscular enough after a pre season or two to offer us that part time ruck/elite follow up role and keep JVR forward.

Then you've got 4 elite mids in there while Gawn rests 🤷‍♂️

Could be an interesting point of difference for a few centre bounces or around the ground stoppages

I'm not concerned by your concerns. Powerful but not explosive , please explain

Welcome aboard the Dee train Harvey/Langers

Happy with this outcome

Only one of his kicks is marked inside 50. Some of those entries are truly terrible. Like dees level forward entry terrible.

He struggled adjusting to the pace against men early but he hits 4 inside 50 targets in a row in the back half of the clip. Not his fault Samson Ryan can't mark and Sam Davidson drops a soda.

He strikes me as a no nonsense type.

He's ready to go this lad.

Harvey and Xavier make us stronger instantly.

Can't go wrong with these 2 fella.

It's simple.  He was fourth last in the 20m sprint rankings at the combine.  That indicates a serious weakness in his game that could have a massive impact on his ability to adjust to the top level.  I've said all along that this worries me, and I stand by that.  I really hope they have a plan to improve his acceleration.

Both Patrick Cripps and Marcus Bontempelli had similar 20m sprint time to Langford at their draft camp.

He'll be fine.

Players need to focus on what they do well and not what they can’t do.   Just because he doesn’t have 1 certain attribute doesn’t mean he can’t still be a gun

We can hire a running coach then.

You want to put him in the ruck

Are we just allergic to nice things and good decisions?

If given the choice? JVR can do it.

Jack Watts was first in the 20m sprint in his draft year top 8 all-time.

Who is this interviewer? Her voice inflection is off the charts.

Delighted with this pick. I would have taken him with pick one if we had it. Yes Lalor has a higher ceiling but Harvey is a safer bet and ready to go.

Not at all as concerned as some about his 20 sprint time. I heard him interviewed earlier in the year and he said it’s the thing he has to work on the most.
His 2km time trail is very good so he has good running ability. Putting too much time into speed in his draft year may have compromised his running ability and his performances.
I expect it’s something that will improve once he has a couple of preseason under his belt.

I spoke to a recruiter this morning and they have said the Dees have done extremely well.  They had Langford ranked number 2 on their list and they are a massive wrap for Lindsay.  💪💪💪

Now the positives-

Is ready to go straight away,

He's one of the best contested marks in the draft this year.

Leadership which I think we were a bit lacking in our younger group.

Thumping left peg but often lowers his eyes-will be a better inside 50 kick than any of our current mids.

Like a goal, stands up in big games.

Has great versatility. Tom Sparrow will probably looking over his shoulder more than anyone but I see him starting more as a mobile half forward, similar role to Jeremy Cameron. Would also dovetail very well with Trac. If required could also cover for Fritter.

As you can see I'm quite the fan. Welcome Harvey

Watching his clips suggests there is no concern on his pace around stoppage. Doesn't look slow at all and moves through traffic really well.

I think he's the full package.

No wonder Adelaide were considering him, cld have been picked earlier.

It will be interesting to see where Tholstrup fits into our best 22. I really rate him, and he is a point of difference from the other Mids/Forwards. He reminds me of a taller Ginnivan that would compliment Langford/Trac in the forward line. That said, where would he fit in? As a high forward transition role competing with Chin? Not sure about that.

I noted this guy as the best possible talent in this years draft. This kid could be anything.

(Note: I'm never wrong when it comes to this)
