The Neal-Bullen situation probably opened this up.  If we are willing to let one contracted player return home for family reasons why wouldn't clubs try and push for another to do the same.

As he states, there's no indication Kozzy wants to move - I think just given the recent media scrutiny and the interest we have in Dan Houston, those clubs have posed the question. Fair enough. If I barracked for them I would be hoping they were asking the question of extremely talented young players in the same scenario.

I keep going back to the Petty example from last year - If we didn't facilitate a trade for him, while his value was inflated, and held him to his contract; I don't see any world where Kozzy or Petracca are given a trade even if they happened to request one. We managed to then re-sign Petty after holding him, so I don't think we need to panic about any of this at this stage.

I don't think so. If ANB was of the same quality as Kozzie, we would hold him to his contract, and make arrangements to satisfy his family issues in SA.

It's not just that Ted - it's the fact that it's 2024 and not 2004 or even 1984 where players were loyal to their club ie Chris Grant...effectively no matter what.

But even the best player of all time (IMO) Garry Ablett Snr and his son changed clubs.

Even Barassi, and even Jakovich

Now I don't think a player has to be loyal to their club no matter what at all - > but player movement is now a very accepted practice within the industry and supporter bases have yet to catch up emotionally. And that makes sense as well.

So it's open season for the media to talk about our players under contract?

Not only under contract, long term contracts.

Can they go away and talk about other similar players from opposition clubs?
