Goodwin's press conference had that slightly-[censored]-off tone that I rather like. He never gives anything away, win or lose, but he did have a bit of a point to make today. Good on him. I'm not a huge fan, but kudos to him on today's performance

That would be great if indeed it was a fact. But it isn’t. Any or all of them leaving us is also not a fact. You can speculate on the likelihood of such but you can’t say anything is a fact.

I know you are close to the players but as an outsider I would be staggered off Clarry out Viney goes anywhere.

You asked about what Viney said - I think there are links to it earlier in this thread but essentially when asked about leaving he instantly said he wouldn't be but when asked again, he said he would wait until later - words to that effect. Most people think that he had meant that he would be staying but then realised that was ruining his bargaining power so he walked back from it. I agree with that interpretation.

I was really impressed with Marty Hore, he looked really solid, beat his opponent consistently and some of his kicking really opened up the game for us.

a role we've really missed since Hibbo retired.

I agree with you, I’d also be staggered if Vines or Clarrie left. But it’s not “a fact” that they’re not going anywhere. Also, the poster named Tracc as well.

On the bus to the airport after the match I was chatting to a couple who’d flown over from Perth for the match. We talked about the win and the media pile-on and all things Dees in general. 20 minutes into the conversation I discovered I was chatting with Mr & Mrs Rooey 😁

Jo (Roo’s mum) said Roo loves living in Melbourne and wouldn’t consider moving back to Perth, or anywhere else for that matter. He has a girlfriend here and is happy and settled.

They said they’re really pleased with  Roo being part of our club and there’s no reason for them to ever worry about him, which they appreciate. ❤️💙

Also, a lady working at security at GC airport commented on our players. She said every single one of them was polite and respectful and this is always how they are when they come through security. Apparently there are “quite a few” AFL teams whose players “could learn a thing or two about manners” from our boys. She told me she’d just emailed her manager to share her observation… again.

Me, upon hearing this…

Just watched the game.

Viney played like he was in a final. Just incredible leadership.

I thought Fritsch did much better leading more upfield. Got him into the game.

I'll say it again, we'll really miss Tommo as May waters out next year. We should have played him more often this year.

Tholstrup and Disco are really coming along.

I know we've recruited a few dodgy players over the last few years, but we have some great young kids coming through.

A great win today. I think everyone involved in the club needed that win today

Go Dees

There are also some lovely national parks northeast across the border if you have the time.

Heading back to Praha for a few days, Dresden then back to Praha and home. Did some nice walks around here.

Proud of how the boys played yesterday and some good reward for their effort over the past 6 weeks or so. Viney is an absolute beast and it is so good to see all of the boys in the circle, not to mention a happy Clarry in amongst it. Looking forward to Friday night and hope we bring the heat vs the Filth.

Kossie

4 disposals

89 metres

Efficiency 75%...Viney 77%

Uncontested  3

Tackles 1

PRESSURE ACTS 34!!

Seriously? Running quickly after the ball carrier ,who knows you're there and has time to steady and dispose , is basically wasting the time of the stats man.

Week after week

There's a lot of upside I guess

Anyone else confused how Viney can play some games at 110% and go full beast mode while some games he just goes at about 80%? If he played with that intensity every week he’d probably be a top 3 player in the comp. Just incredible.

It's incredibly hard to back up that kind of intensity each and every week.

Especially with thr position he plays being a battering inside midfielder.

Taking into fact that he is 30 years of age and it is an absolute grind each and every week in getting your body up most weeks.

I had similar thoughts about Marty Hore. HBF is a unique spot to play - he has put in some good performances over time in that spot. Consistency will be the key, I guess.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
