Lukosious omitted is interesting. I guess Hardwick is making sure he's fresh for preseason and our forward line's 2025 resurgence.

Want the filth to win so we can knock them out of finals in rd24. Like the roos to win so the tigers get the spoon.

Think I will go back to bed and keep dreaming.

I don't.... I just want someone to go into Sherman Tank mode and totally put Maynard into La La Land!

My perverse interest is in a fully interstate top 4. If this happens at most there are only two finals in Melbourne (first week) and the GF.

Am I being unfair

Hope Freo and Sydney can bounce back and take care of the Filths'.

Some Green Velvet required.

I’m all in on this too. The AFL does everything in its power to orchestrate results, so I love it when their plan fails and it costs them money.

They’ll try spin it into a PR win about ‘the strength of the national competition’, but then give Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon the softest fixture imaginable to make sure they are all top 6 in 2025.

looking forward to tagging this post when the draw is released 😍

I just want sydney to win to basically knock the pies out of finals contention & wreck Howes 250th.

It would be great if somehow gc could win one away & knock off the bummers

I tipped the home teams except for the saints.  No idea if it will play out that way, most tops turvy season i can remember..

This will be hard, but I actually want Collingwood to win tonight:
1/ Sydney losing really opens up the comp to "anyone can win" (sadly, not us)
2/ More importantly, I want Pies fans to think they're a chance and for us to destroy their dreams in the last round when we waste them.
3/ Point 2 relies on is winning in the last round.

All the People on here wanting a Filth win tonight.

Hang your collective heads in shame

I admit it's too hard.
I'm instinctively baracking for the Swans

Have turned it off. Just can’t get into the footy much these days. Free kick, free kick,  flop, score review, score review, score review. So darn boring. Less than 10 minutes of play time and 11 free kicks.

my favourite scenario is Sydney win but to get in the finals Cwood have to beat us by a large margin but fail, preferably because we beat them.  Haven't looked at the ladder to know if this is feasible.

As a Mfc supporter, it's par for the course to dislike Cwood.

But seriously this pies outfit has a particular high number of nuffies in it , so it's easy to dislike.

Swans had better get going. If they lose tonight at home it's panic stations.

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
