If anyone comes on here and tries to justify why Goodwin should because "oh but the players love him!" then you are every bit part of the problem.

The club cannot sell any positive spin unless its to say that hes been given the flick. Until then, its all just trash and spin.

Seriously mate, who the [censored] do you think you are?

I'm not going to come on here to defend Goodwin because its not posisble.

I will defend the "happy clappers" though, cause I'm sick to death of hearing from people like you that I/we are part of the problem, simply because I/we choose not to be a tiresome [censored] sad sacks when things don't go our way.

If I don't want to wallow in negativity, I won't, so with all due respect, shove your self righteous BS up your [censored].

Yeah we didn’t finish top 4 in either 22 or 23. Lost in the semi’s if you don’t recall

Yep a real top 4 finish is making a preliminary final at minimum

Lol no he didn't. "The game was there for the taking, we'll work to become more ruthless". He is a simpleton, to put it kindly

Can't believe the bloke. Instead of showing some decorum he keeps spinning the same old [censored].

Goodwin talks about last few moments goals, which I'm taking as player blame.

But for gods sake 9 straight goals !!!

And a coaching group can't make any decisions to arrest momentum.

Screams of incompetence at highest level.

But it's ok everyone, cos there's love in the room.

I'm sick of the spew that comes around love and respect, cos it's not translating in performance.

MFC staff should go too government work.

Because there us the same.

No results means higher promotion

Spot on! People need to live in today's land not just the good old memories. Otherwise we'll find our club back to dark times and a decade of nothingness.

It wasn't good enough. It should never happen again, (it probably won't as it's a record loss). We should be ruthless and sack him. Shameful woeful pitiful effort Simon

The entire 4th quarter was a moment

Simon Goodwin can't last now.

He's stamped his papers this evening.

Losing to St. Kilda after leading by 46 points at 3/4 time is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬

I keep seeing “but the players love Goodwin” narrative and sacking him would see mass trade requests and Pickett only signed because of the coach. What a load of nonsense…

Just look at Ange Postecoglu at Tottenham. It’s very rare to keep players onside in football/soccer especially over in Europe for a big club, but in spite of coming 17th in the Premier League, and yeah, he was able to win a trophy, but literally 95% of the Tottenham squad, including Romero, a World Cup winning centre back, touted by Messi as the best defender in the world eulogizing Ange on social media to bid him farewell post sacking. You rarely see such support these days such is the ego of multi millionaire football players.

2 months later, they are hard at work doing pre season because that’s what they are paid to do.

Point being, these are professionals. Natural disappointment would definitely occur, but they would also know this is part of the caper and will quickly move on.

I sincerely hope the fear of discontent within the locker room isn’t a big factor for moving on Goodwin.

I know we're all angry and annoyed from today's capitulation, but there is no need to start throwing haymakers at each other on here.

Half-baked President.

Interim-CEO.

Still no home-base.

A coach who tells everyone it is ok, like Trump.

We are millimetres away from disaster and I’m not sure what saves us.

2 weeks from hell - being beaten by a depleted bottom 4 side and now this capitulation. Surely this must prompt real change.

If we are going to replace then will have to get moving before Carlton do, and before trade period starts.

On one hand what else can he say?

On the other hand his comments in the press conference were the comments of a coach with a young team trying to instill good habits. Not the coach of an experienced side that won a flag 4 years ago (14 premiership players). If he hasn't instilled those habits into them by now after 10 years as coach then it ain't gonna happen.

The level of regression we have seen with this side is inexcusable. The place needs to be cleared out from top to bottom.

We are a club with a proud history so I would never say we are a joke of a club but we have plenty of clowns in senior positions running the place into the ground.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
