I just want to say, how good is Windsor? Just about everything he does is gold, rarely makes mistakes and often beats 2 or 3 players 1 out.

He came back a week earlier than was initially projected.  My counter view is what if he hadn't played? He wasn't right, back a week early but still had 12 contested possessions, kicked a goal, handed Nibbler the one at the end and competed manfully.  And probably didn't do any further damage. Briggs is a good player, but statistically, other than hit outs, Max did as much as him.

Yeah, I thought the same. But he prob felt like he had to play, given how our 'rucks' got smashed in his absence. We desperately need to address our ruck stocks over the off season

Yep by a total of 8 points but also thumped by 90’& 50 points to Freo and played poorly even before trac & Max we’re injured .. have blown the premiership window apart with trades that are vfl level, our clearances have been poor all year, need a review and changes in particular assistants even Goodwin as his flip flop of rucks

I was at the game and caught up in the moment so I need to review the replay tomorrow when I clear my head. But I was screaming in the last few last quarter centre bounces. We had no one goal side for the bounce. So Max is running toward our goals and Briggs as usual coming from the side early to take up space, and twice the hit by Max goes towards our goal and straight to a Giant on his own, who then gets a clear kick forward. WTF is going on? 

Anyone else think Petty's last shot at goal was pathetic?

GWS seemed to be allowed to run sideways on the mark which has been a 50m penalty all year. We didn't do it tonight so i can't say they were inconsistent tonight but i've lost count of the times we've been penalised for it throughout the year

Jeepers there are some hot takes in here.

Having a crack at Oliver when he was far and away our best player for the first three quarters and played his best football in months (all year?) is ridiculous - yes, his fourth quarter was no good, but he looked spent after carrying our midfield for the first three quarters.

Having a crack at the coaches for having TMac on Hogan is easy but Hogan had kicked 1 goal for 2.5 quarters before getting on the end of their midfield going berserk for 15 minutes. TMac's problems tonight were his own fault, not the coaches.

Having a crack at Lever for dropping an intercept mark late is harsh (that he was even able to get his hands to it speaks to his ability) particularly given he had kept us afloat in the middle two quarters.

We lost this game due to our usual inability to execute fundamentals under pressure, coupled with carrying a number of unfit and either out of form or not good enough players. Some vital 50/50 umpiring decisions going against us sealed the deal.

My love-hate relationship with the [censored]-bullet continues.

Can't let the ridiculous Petty pile on get off track now can we? 

First quarter was excellent, last ten minutes pretty good, but the rest was absolute garbage. 

As soon as we coughed up two soft goals at the start of the second quarter it was inevitable that we'd lose, and GWS went on a 12 goal to 3 run after quarter time. 

Gawn clearly wasn't fit. Good on him for having a crack, but our centre bounce work was atrocious once again and he was a major reason why. 

Not having a running player as sub was horrible coaching, and should never happen again. 

Our bottom 8 to 10 players are just not good enough, and most of them will never be good enough. We need to make significant, long overdue changes to the list in the next two months. Ditto the coaching staff, from the senior coach down. 

And finally, tonight's crowd was abysmal and says everything about the character of our so-called supporter base.

I think our kicking for goal in general is pathetic. It's been costing us for a few years, last years finals especially

Not surprisingly, he ran out of gas towards the end, but the question I would ask is why the club did not secure a back-up ruckman before letting Grundy go.

Goodwin has made it clear that he would not even consider Fullarton for the role.

Clearly it isn’t. 
 

Pre-seasons are for getting a player’s fitness raised as high as possible, which they work at maintaining throughout the season. If anything, the H&A season eats away at those levels. Very rare to see a player’s fitness significantly increase during them.

This is such a garbage post, I'd like to think you're better than that PF but maybe you're not. Dragged himself out of hospital to be there tonight and stood in the freezing cold on the boundary before going back into hospital tomorrow morning. Has built a strong culture around the playing group who clearly love him as evidenced by most players signing long term deals. Our only living premiership coach and the man who was able to break the drought after 57 years. Whatever you think of him he is etched in Demon folklore til they stop writing about the game. I think he needs some new voices in the coaches box but he is a damn good coach. Great at strategy, maybe not so great tactically but none are perfect.

Clearly had us ready to play as we came out of the blocks red hot - reminded me of the Semi Final last year actually. How exactly was he outcoached? Giants are a flag contender, we will be lucky to make finals with our best player side lined and a raft of kids being blooded.
