Can I have some of whatever you’re on? I see a guy who gets it done rather than a star with JVR.

There's none so blind as those who will not see.

When Cal talks about p6. Whilst all the recruiters reckon it’s Smillie @ 6, Cal wonders whether Tiges jump on Allan here knowing both Dees & Saints are interested.

We will grab Allan at 5, Tauru at 9 I can see it now

Tauru won’t get passed the Saints or a trade up for the second saints pick, I don’t believe they won’t trade if they get a great offer.

If Richmond want to take Allan at 6 that’s fine. St Kilda take 2 of Draper, Smillie, Travaglia. We’ll snap up the one that gets through or pivot to Lindsay

Yes, yes it is.

That's the only way I can see it potentially, but the whole trying to turn defenders into forwards doesn't sit well with me at all.

If we're desperate for a key forward then grab someone like a Jobe Shanahan who's a natural key forward and proven at VFL level that he can kick goals.

HENCE Petty forward is doomsday stuff!!

This is my prediction.

Richmond - Lalor

North Melbourne- FOS

Carlton - Smith

Adelaide - Langford

Melbourne - Taura

I could go Allan 5, Reid 9, thank your mother for the rabbits.

1. Lalor, 2. Tauru, 3. FOS, 4. Draper - then we take Smith with 5

When pick 9 comes up, if we like 3 players still available, we offer Smith to Richmond for 10 and 11

I am assuming this is possible/allowed, but havent looked at rules about trading on draft night

Same as Fox Footy’s Phantom.

Could easily be the way it goes but quietly hoping that North pick Tauru or Adelaide pick Draper.

See what Cal comes up with this afternoon I guess.

I'm convinced we'll take Tauru with 5 as well now.

@Demonstone Here's another one for you. I've seen this version of Tauru written so often that I thought Admiral Yamamoto and Commander Fuchida had started posting on Demonland.

* Tauru.

You're not allowed to spell his name incorrectly unless we draft him.  :D

And with pick 5 in the best draft in years, MFC select.... a medium defender

I trust JT but he will test that trust if he does this

This site if we trade picks on draft night will be a thing to behold!

[Insert meme here]

Tauru is a gun and will be very happy if we draft him. Particularly with our KPP needs. Along with Travaglia and Lalor he is one the most aggressive and competitive players in the pool.

Puts added pressure on getting pick 9 right with a mid but we have one of the best in the league choosing so I'm comfortable whichever way it falls.

Allan, Lindsay, Hynes, Berry, Reid at 9 with the potential for Smillie or Travaglia still on the board. Can't complain with any of those players.

It's a clear sign that we intend to Zero in on him.   (IYKYK)

If we draft Tauru, I think it shows how much optimism the club has that both Petracca and Oliver will both be back to their best next season.

I reckon we would be placing a lot of importance on competitiveness and character

Any idea who is best on this front in the top 10?

I personally think that is a bit of a stretch…. Probably more likely they think there is no point building a draft strategy alongside a scenario that may or may not happen…

I appreciate your optimism, but ending up with say Tauru and Lindsay, when just a couple days ago we were eyeing off Langford/FOS/Smith and Allan, is uninspiring to say the least

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
