Awkward live interview with Viney form the B and F and channel 10 news.

Aren't interviews with Viney always awkward?

Jack has spoken, end of story. 🫣

He didn’t answer in the most convincing fashion having to pause and change his words when saying “Clazz is looking forward to….you know I’m looking forward to”. We’ll know soon enough…

Rightio

The issue is nobody can tell me who we should have played instead. I’d take Clarry at 80% over any of the other options at 100

But he wasn’t ready in his mind or body

That’s the point. He needed serious work ethic and discipline to get himself right

I've only recently discovered the GIF button. If you head over to the BnF thread I've posted my favourite so far.....although the crashing aeroplane remains a close second.

Morris is a bell end

Whilst i agree he should have been made to work for his place in the team, the AFL has a culture of sweeping things under the carpet. Look at De Geoy, beating a man and forcibly touching a woman, spent time in NY jail. Punishment was zero games missing. Many stars have a different set of rules than their teammates. We are not alone here.

And that was also a poor decision, probably why De Goey has also failed to reach his potential. And don’t think for a second the decision may yet come back to bite us.

Not all clubs.  This club went ok after this.  And then Stokes was suspended for 7 weeks.

Morris reporting the board said no once they found out.

So did the board not know, then found out, then intervened?

Who else at the club isn’t in the know or on the same page?

There ware stories from the past of some big name VFL players being let out of gaol to play on Saturdays.

Another casual untruth from Tom to suit his narrative.

you telling me the board only became aware of the Oliver situation today Tom?

lol

Found out what exactly? Found out that we wouldn't be getting 2 first rounders for him?

Also hard to believe that the Board only "found out" in the last day or two when this has been going on for a week or more.

We'll never know the true story here, but I suspect that the only real reason this isn't going through is that we can't get Oliver's salary off our books plus a couple of decent picks. Could be wrong of course.

Tom Morris that’s who stop casting around for Tom’s sources.!!!

Does he actually want to leave? I'm not quite updated on this whole debacle.

You sound exactly like Morris!

Tom Morris, you bloody crab. Back in August, he also reported that Shai Bolton was gone from Richmond and would be requesting a trade. Two days later, he reports that “in a bizarre twist”, Bolton will be staying at Richmond. What an absolute ****truck of a guy.

I reckon the Dees just started the Oliver rumours to get more reporters to the B&F 😂😂😂

Saints now have picks 7 and 8.

Would the Saints come for Oliver knowing that either those picks would get the deal done?

Weirdly, I’d be much more OK with Claz at the Saints. In fact I’d go so far as to say if he was a part of their first flag since ‘66, I’d actually be happy for the guy.

Clarry ain't going anywhere,Cats couldn't even afford him and give us suitable picks with Bailey Smith coming to the Cats.

This is all just BS by Morris and McClueless to fill rubbish articles.

I'll read this thread again on the last day of trade week and find surprise, surprise Clarry is and always was staying, you can all waste the next 3 weeks of your life on the pointless thread!!!

I said the above 3 days ago,you don't have to waste the next 3 weeks on this thread now!!!

if I was Tom Morris…

I’d get my teeth fixed and upgrade my wardrobe

I’d be more respectful of women across the entire spectrum

I’d suck up to my superiors (although this is sometimes difficult for a bloke like me ((Tom)) to acknowledge that I have superiors!)

I’d trawl through club sites to find chinks I can exploit

I’d make bold statements based on rumour and innuendo, but always insert an ‘out clause’ near the end of my report.

I’d never reveal my sources, even if they don’t exist!

I’d spend all my spare time ringing around to try and identify my next victim/exclusive/click/bait/hook/fake/controversy/… ( insert your own journalistic mumbo jumbo here….. )

I’d polish my smile and ramp up my smugness, then proceed to get in front of a camera and speak intensely about some poor soul whose vulnerability is not my concern!

Many stars have a different set of rules than their teammates. We are not alone here.

We suspended Steven May for drinking while in concussion protocols, while May and Melksham had to do community service after their punch-up. Don't think we're reluctant to apply penalties where necessary.

Perhaps in Oliver's case suspension and/or missing matches wasn't seen to be in anyone's best interest. He needs routine. Difficult to get the balance right.

Tom Morris is the LAST journalist anyone on our board or administration would ever talk to after his disastrous time at the club. Anything he says is either second hand or straight up made up. No credibility at all.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.
