That’s if I get there! But I’m sure this worldwide catastrophe outage will be sorted by Sunday morning. We’ve got members flying out tonight who are at the airport amongst the bedlam. And many more due to fly out early tomorrow morning. 😑

Sure was unfortunately. The buzz in the Melbourne section pre game was something that I have rarely witnessed. Bloody devastating we were just totally gassed and had nothing left to give.

Enjoy, hope your winning streak continues.

Laurie stiff as.

But Billings could still provide something for us. It may have come down to a senior body over a young fella

Billings running out of chances though

I am registered as an in-flight emotional support camel for tax purposes, so there is some pressure on to keep up appearances.

To be fair, I've never done a pacific crossing and I'm also putting off a Europe trip until there's an available stopover location which isn't a major slave market or Perth.

This reminds me about ships not taking in ballast water in Adelaide? (I think they have since lowered their standards)

I was looking into going to Europe by boat - of course that was pre-Covid - so that’s another option.
Probably get to meet real pirates as well!

Good luck to Billings but has been absolute crud at senior level for the most part so far.

Surely last chance at senior level with any AFL club this week?  Does he even care?  Doesn't play like it.

Billing’s, Bowey or Sparrow as sub

Goody proved the afl world wrong with not playing a genuine ruck last week but Jackson & Darcy will have a field day, It’s obvious Fullerton can’t ruck in Goodwin  eyes, very weird

He can’t ruck and that’s not just in Goodwin’s eyes.

Roo will go with Darcy, the two big bodies , and Petty should be able to body Jackson and defend him when he goes forward or drop off him and leave TMac to him.

Have you seen the weather forecast? It’s going to be wet. Darcy will be a liability out there.

Billings back in. Hmmmm Hasn’t shown really anything when he has played. Lucky to be back in. Skills poor. Goalkicking poor. Tackling non existent.

Laurie contracted though to end 2026 for some reason. Looks to slow and uncontested for AFL midfield role and we have plenty of small forwards already.  He’s a VFL standard player.

Tholstrup is the future.  He’s going to be very very good.

Sure, but apart from those limitations, …. ????

It’s all about the energy we bring and I reckon the kids have got a taste for it.

We have plenty of run now with AMW, Mc Vee, Windsor, The Kolt, Langdon back to his best, Kozzie Nibbler and the brilliance of Melksham not to mention the coming of age of Roo , what a month he has had!

Sparrow’s not going to be the sub.

Unfortunately you’re a day out…

After all the talk of a wet weather game, the forecast is 0-3mm. Doesn’t exactly scream a wet weather slog of a game.

And I’m not sure we’d benefit from back to back wet games heading into GWS off the back of a 6 day break from Perth.

Is Fullarton become a permanent emergency especially for interstate matches ? He and the Dees can look on the bright side of life, we will have a fresh player at our disposal. Perhaps the word disposal will have a stronger meaning for Tom year's end . i.e delisted.

He has another year on his contract.

Surprised with Billings, from VFL form thought Laurie was more deserving

Bowey must be on extremely thin ice

Geez I get sick of correcting youse spelling.

It's spelled Halloween.

Would've preferred Laurie to be the in.

He's young, we've given him a contract extension, there must be something there Goodwin believes in.

Let's see it

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
