He is an absolute star and seeing that [censored] stringer getting absolutely towelled up was just so amazing to see.

Need a contract extension pronto!

Form an orderly queue to make your apologies to Goody here please…

Happy to eat my hat and hat my eat.

Sorry Goody 👒 🧢 🎩

Well If Jeffo fires tommorrow id drop Petty Ruck JVR and Disco and give a REAL forward a chance😆

My only negative is that they subbed the wrong player off. How Bowey kept playing when AMW was actually playing well is beyond.

Bowey is a huge worry for me moving forward alongside Petty and Sparrow.

Judd McVee out marking Lance Whitnall was the highlight for me on too of many others of course.  Kid is a serious talent.

Shame about the last 10 minutes, it ruined what was otherwise a really strong four quarter performance.

Hate seeing JVR spend so much time in the ruck but not sure what else we can do.

Sparrow really needs time at Casey, I'm not sure what he brings to the side at the moment. Seems to be spending time in the forward half but only had 2 tackles and can't hit the scoreboard?

OK I'm in london & just saw the scores. Oh my god I'm so happy.

How did we win this?

How did we go in the ruck?

Maybe we need to trust goody and his plans.

Go dees. What a weekend,  pies lose and so do the bummers

That was bizarre umpiring in the last 5 minutes.

For example the bombers throwing the ball all night and they pluck one out of nowhere against rivers.

Yep.. horrible call. It’s decisions like that that really make me think the umpires have been given a direction to help the opposing team make a comeback.

Caddy was the youngest player tonight.

And apparently we had the next 7 youngest.

The bombers are still in rebuild mode.

The Kids are alright

Umpires did everything they could to make a game of it.

Credit to McKay.

They would have been list without him.

A thought experiment.

Imagine taking draper and Merrett out of the bombers team tonight (the equivalent of gawn and tracc).

I thought that was the best game I’ve seen McKay play. He really set them up well behind the ball.

Can't believe Windsor is only two years older than me... So much class at just 19. All the youngsters looked amazing today!

JVR was a monster in the ruck

Dear Straight Set Simon,

I look forward to only having to lose one final this year.

Though he had the luxury of not playing on JVR, and instead he got a very underwhelming Petty.

Melksham talks like a coach. Has a great future when he finishes playing

Agree, and that likely translates on field as well.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.

  • CASEY: Northern Bullants

The Casey Demons travelled to a windy Cramer Street, Preston yesterday and blew the Northern Bullants off the ground for three quarters before shutting up shop in the final term, coasting to a much-needed 71-point victory after leading by almost 15 goals at one stage. It was a pleasing performance that revived the Demons’ prospects for the 2025 season but, at the same time, very little can be taken from the game because of the weak opposition. These days, the Bullants are little more than road kill. The once proud club, situated behind the Preston Market in a now culturally diverse area, is currently facing significant financial and on-field challenges, having failed to secure a win to date in 2025.

  • GAMEDAY: Sydney

It’s Game Day, and the Demons have a golden opportunity to build on last week’s stirring win by toppling Sydney at the MCG. A victory today would keep them firmly in the hunt for a finals spot and help them stay in touch with the pack chasing a place in the Top 8. Can the Dees make it two in a row and bring down the Swans?
