This will be a great challenge especially for the youngsters. Good luck to AMW.

And I hope we win just to give a big F U to all the misery around here lately.

Misery loves company so let's win and make it a hermit.

Max is unnaturally tall...

I am guessing you are 5 foot 6"?

Good guess, I am 5f 7 lol. Had the same experience in a lift with him in Hobart last year

Now out to $5.50.

More a reflection of Brisbane's form or ours? I reckon we'd be rank outsiders at the MCG as well.

Game day baby. Pumped!

We all know it’s either a small win or massive loss.

If Fritta and Clarry can get going, it’s on baby.

Go Dees. Rip ‘em a new one.

If nothing else, this year’s AFL competition has shown that anything can happen on any given day.  Maybe the ‘Footy Gods’ will be smiling on us for a change ……. after all, it must be our bloody turn!  Dees by 3 points.

You mean the umpiring gods?

Just keen to see the new kids get more game time really, it's all development which is good, a win would be a real treat but just happy to see kids getting a go.

Is this a drinking game?

Drink 6 pints for every behind we score?

I would certainly be done by first quarter time.

Happy Andy Moniz Wakefield day to those who celebrate

I’d forgotten how good the game day thread is so many hours before the game. I feel optimistic again! … but I won’t be revisiting this page during the game.

Really interested to see what Fritsch's attitude is like this week, reckon it was really poor last outing.

Geez Andy… a little drastic, dontchya think?!
Can’t we just say “Or lose”????

He’s using reverse psychology — he think we’re a chance I rkn 🤩🤩🤩

I honestly have belief for tonight — Roos game I always had a danger game vibe, but for whatever reason, tonight with Lever back, I have a genuine feeling we’re gonna take it to them. Sure, we could completely capitulate under the weight of our own season, but Lions have a history of being happy with themselves and if I’m right in my expectation our fitness will look much better tonight, we’re 💯 legit chance tonight.

Takeaway the North Umpire kickstarted comeback, we’d be about $3 if we’d held-on by 30+ — Add Lever who’s our most important player in terms of when missing, we lose — look up the history — And I think our d50 game is going to be right back to where it was before he got injured & don’t forget he was carrying a knee weeks prior to Freo game. Weird selection with Thommo in for Howes, but again I think that’s cus with Lever we want him completely free to go wherever he likes..

AMW HAS TO PLAY and not be sub for mine, really wanna see his composure and assuredness esp with Salo out, but seeing Woey on bench also means it’s 50/50 to which plays as sub.. but I’m gonna say it’s AMW!

I think Petty is most confident he’s been all year and JVR is a problem match-up, I expect a full-blown fwd half game which means taking on Lions head to head in the contested game — where I think we can be hungrier and quicker if we have the legs.

Riv will have to be electric, Clarry will good to avoid Berry tag, or maybe he tags Neale himself — Nibbler and Kolt being used through the middle of the ground as connecting HHF’s & conversion like LW to be excellent!

Kos to slot 3, Fritta 3, Petty 2, Chandler 2 — Dees by 11pts to reignite our season.

You should always endeavour to keep your nose out of other people's business.

Instead of guzzling pints of beer, try having a sip of brake fluid instead.

The good thing is that you can stop whenever you wish.

I'm tired of being the Lions' bunnies. Dreaming of another 60+ win against them but more realistically hoping we win - even if only by a point.  Carn ya red legs!!  ❤💙

Christy, has Binman brainwashed this many people?

On what basis do you 'expect' our fitness to look much better?

Freo, Collingwood, North.. Which one were we 'bouncing' for?

Or is it this one?

Season defining game

The Forwardline just has to do something tonight.
Get your sh.. together Demons

On Fox Footy this morning they were replaying highlight packages from previous encounters between Melbourne and the Lions. The one of most interest was the 2021 qualifying final, we moved the ball quickly (not like Collingwood do now but quicker than we do currently) we would take a mark at half back or on the wing and we would turn and go kicking towards CHF before turning and kicking to a less congested fwd line. Our small fwd were at the drop of the ball and our pressure was immense. Anyway that seems like a lifetime ago now…..

What has changed since 2021. Everything was working so well that year in our ball movement. Why did we tinker/regress. Did we become less bold, less risk taking.

i love the optimism some have - wish i could be more like that. BUt i cant see how we come closer than 5 goals. Their forward line is on fire atm and they outclass us in the middle.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
