GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

Featured Replies

Last night I commented on how the carlton forwards especially the smaller ones put a lot of tackling pressure on and chase.  I saw fritta and kozzie walking.

Oliver needs to focus on the ball. At one point phillips was into him off the ball & koltyn ran in to help out.

We're 15 points up.  North have kicked three goals in half a game.

Chins up, Demonlanders.

I am not normally one to try ridiculous player shifting mid game but I'd honestly put Oliver deep in the pocket and put Kolt next to him. Shift Petty back and McDonald forward. Leave JVR in the ruck and have Gawn play defensively exclusively. Pickett on the wing and Windsor playing a defensive wing. Give Langdon more space to run. Then sub Chandler and bring on Brown to play an attacking flank role.

Petty has been lively. Really unlucky not to have another shot on goal early in the qtr as he was taken high. Fritsch is our real problem. He needs to engage Archer.

Thanks Mark (Neeld)

We are playing Neeld-esque atm mate

Do we have a forward capable of leading. Think it was Langford with a minute or two to go.. he's clear on the wing with clear space in front and we kick to a pack 20 metres out

You do understand we are talking about North Melbourne? The worst team in the last 3 seasons?

After what we dished up against West Coast? The second worst team in that same period.

It's not working though. Our season is on the line.

Name me a more lazy player for this team

At least he doesn’t give up 50m and down fields for late hits

clarry has him for mentally lazy

same old bomb it into the forward line, what is there problem with players leading, if one of our forwards has two players on him where is our spare player.

Good to see Kolt giving more than he was getting in that half-time melee. 🤣

Not sure why Oliver is getting game time, sure he’s getting tagged but any other would have been dropped, perhaps that’s the issue, did he earn his spot after a poor preseason?

You do understand you're permitted to SUPPORT your team?

Any danger of Ollie impacting ??

Kudos... Petty having a crack.

Thanks Tmac

A lot need to lift ...

Clarry's copping a heavy tag but just doesn't appear to have the leg power and speed to push through the contest and hit the ball at speed.

Will need a huge pre-season to fix that and get back to his best.

Playing him deep forward is probably about the only option from here to try n shake the tag and maybe hit the scoreboard or get involved in some score assists plus pressure i50.

So we can't criticise their poor performance?

We all support the team, but we are tired and frustrated of the downhill in which we are at the moment.

why would north tag Clarry?

he’s had zero impact this year

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

  • VOTES: Richmond

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
