Speedy mids with skill in the draft and speedy mids at trade.

Iโ€™m not fussed if we recruit good VFL players because our Casey team is putrid, itโ€™s still helping our young kids by improving that side as well

If theyโ€™re not your ideal trade then they are not worth pursuing. Better to find a young recruit and try to develop his talent.

Well that would be boring in the Trade wish listย

Peter Wright as a forward/ruckman type to give Gawn a decent chop out instead of throwing JVR in there.

James Peatling for more midfield talent. After seeing him monster Clayton Oliver around the stoppages against GWS I want this kid big time.

Malcolm Rosas for more half forward offence and speed inside 50. I don't particularly rate Chandler all that highly and I think Rosas could easily be our Jack Ginnavin for next year if given a fresh start with a brand new offensive game plan.

Will Brodie, Alex Davies and even Ben Hobbs for added midfield depth.

Don't think any of these players are on the trade table. Wright was on the outer towards the end of last year but 50+ goals and a bnf in 2022 don't think the bombers would just let him go for nothing .

Perhaps that is why this topic is a โ€œWishlistโ€.

Mac Andrew every day of the week for me. Canโ€™t think of a player that would dovetail any better with Max. Can play back, ruck and forward. Didnโ€™t have his best game against us but he going to be a star. The $12m over 5 years is just his agent trying to hype him up.ย
Def need mids Peatling and Brodie would be very welcome too.ย

I'm coming around slightly on the Brodie idea. At very worst he provides much needed depth, a luxury we probably didn't value as much until it was gone.ย

If the deal was cheap I'd say go for it.ย

I finally get to post a vague 'in the know' post like this, but hearing Richmond might be his destination.ย

Thatโ€™s some guaranteed game time right there

Rivers potential as a mid looks sound, McVee is nowhere near ready and is so accomplished at HB youโ€™re robbing Peter to pay Paul. Tholstrup is also a fair way off. He has some solid attributes but heโ€™s got a long long way to go. We desperately need Oliverโ€™s best back to be the extractor along with Viney. We simply must get 2 โ€œWindsorโ€ level mids through the door this draft period.ย

Yep 2 Windsors would be amazing. We will hopefully get another decent pick for ANB after he finishes high in the B&F.ย

Agree somewhat on Tholsltrop, he has some clever attributes and will be good in heavy traffic, and is a competitor. but he was off the pace and thats ok you can learn that. I forgot how many times Nathan Jones was caught in his first couple of years but he learnt it slowly but surely.ย

I'm not a fan of getting Will Brodie because I see him being another Luke Dunstan. He'll dominate in the VFL but will get overlooked for selection even when we have injuries to our on-ballers. Would much rather spend the cash on Peatling or draft pick on Hobbs, who still have upside.

My biggest concern is Alan Richardson coming out and saying our list profile needs to get older rather than younger. This gives me vibes of getting the next Hunter, Billings or Hore.ย

The thing is we need another Dunstan who can make Casey competitive again. If we want our younger players to improve while at Casey we need to play to a decent standard and similar game still to the first.ย
Brodies racking up great number in the WAFL. I see it as him and Sparrow competing for same spot.ย

Names in the hat โ€ฆParfitt (cats) Rosas (suns), Brodie (Freo)ย

Wishlist โ€ฆ Peatling (GWS)ย

Unlikely but worth a discussionโ€ฆ Davies (suns) Hobbs (ess) Wright (ess)ย

pick up the phone โ€ฆ Jai Serong (hawks)ย

I think our main priority is to pick up a ruckman like Fort or Moyle.

If we could get a few depth midfielders like Robertson or Brodie that would be a bonus.

Is Deven Robertson contracted to end 2025? I think so. ย He was courted by the Eagles but stayed at Brisbane. ย Iโ€™m sure Eagles might try again - though they have Reid, Ginbey, Hewitt and will add pick 3 midfielder this year most likely so could be already setup with next gen mids. ย

I'd go after Owies.

Add Ollie Lord to the list as a Key Fwd and Erasmus and Sheldrick would be ahead of Davies and Hobbs for me.ย

Ginbey has looked good as a backman, Hewitts body is struggling. Hence why graham and robertson r of interest to them

Andrew Brayshaw.

Would love to get Andy to the Dees at the end of 2025, but hard to see him leaving the Dockers given how bright their future is and that heโ€™s their captain in waitingย

We can dream though ๐Ÿฅน

What ever happened to Will Setterfield?ย

After some average seasons at Carlton, I recall him being fairly decent after being traded to Essendon?

My perfect player:

- End of career
- Played half a good season four to 12 years ago
- I heard someone once say they were "clever with footy in hand" (I've seen no evidence of this, but it sounds good)
- Studiously avoids contact

The last sentence indicates a Craig Bradley type then?ย

Again Tim Lamb will have a big whiteboard and is setting out an agenda

midfield depthย

Key defender ย (May ageing, Tmcd on last legs, Tommo will go elsewhere, Adams still a work in progress)ย

Ruck relief for Gawn โ€ฆ Verrall & Fullarton seen as unlikely. ย Try to keep JVR as key forward impact ย

Protect Pick 5 โ€ฆ ย hands off !!!ย

Get pick 25 off Crows for ANB

Wishlist โ€ฆ Peatling (GWS)ย

pick up the phone to managers of โ€ฆAngus Sheldrick (Swans), Neil Erasmus (Freo), Seamus Mitchell (hawks ) Jai Serong (hawks) , Nick Bryan (ess) , Ben Hobbs (ess) Peter Wright (ess)ย

Out of contract โ€ฆDavies (suns), Kreuger ( pies)ย

Names to see what they could add ย โ€ฆ Parfitt (cats) Rosas (suns), Brodie (Freo)

Absolutely the number one target next year. Nothing less than a 6 year contract. Andrew Brayshaw will turn 26 at end of next year. ย Six year deal will be sought and will push Freo into uncomfortable territory. ย You never know !!!ย

Andy Brayshawโ€™s about the safest bet in the league, Freo wonโ€™t have any issues giving him 6 years. The question will be money and whether heโ€™s happy over there.ย

The sticking point is whether Serong will leap him for the captaincy and whether Young, Serong, Bolton all leap him as mids and he has to play forward or wing more.

In the real world you sign Brayshaw. In a fantasy world building a perfect side Iโ€™d want a big bodied mid and more forward class to play next to Young, Serong, Bolton more than Iโ€™d want Brayshaw. But I suspect heโ€™ll be signed by March.ย

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
