Norf, based of exposed form, will pull our pants down.

Sounds like our form is going to be exposed.

Clayton’s hand reinjured at training…clearly hasn’t been right all year.

Any mention of how long?

No mention that he will miss, but they were doing a tackling drill and Kolt got Clarry and he got up grimacing and holding his hand.

I thought the guys were on a 6 day break? Was there a training session?

A bloke from an inner suburb  on the north western side of town said he  thought he heard something went on down at the local in regard to wagering.

One player?? But Filth can cover multiple player loses, nup we are physically and mentally weak!

They are. It ended today. If there was a training session today (on a Sunday?) they weren’t all in attendance.

edit: they did train today. Not all were in attendance

After watching North vs Pies today I would say that North are red-hot favourites to [censored] us next week.

After watching north for 12 rounds id say they are red hot favourites for the spoon

If it was / is that dodgy he was probably a week to week proposition anyway.

Then you have to ask, why did we play him vs Brissy when all the signs and the timing said don't.  He even came off the track after the Cap run that week and looked very worried, chatting to trainers for at least 3 to 5 mins.

Give him that week off, get the opp, then another 4 to 6 to fully heal.  He's back for the Saints match (latest).

Instead we gave him the bye to get over the opp and straight back into it again for Anzac eve.  Has never looked fully right besides maybe one or two reasonable games since.

He effectively missed the pre-season, and has been playing catch-up ever since. Regardless of what's going on with his hand, he's never going to be fully right until next year.

The players were mostly back today for the mid season breakfast meeting with their club sponsor. Training was after breakfast and I was told the emphasis was on goal kicking. From what I saw on the news the emphasis was on tackling and pressure (Clarrie came uo saw in a wrestling match with Kolton).

I believe McVee wasn't available not sure if he has an injury. I would really like to see him in the midfield for a stint.

Our best in form wins came against Port Adelaide, Hawthorn and Western Bulldogs.

Can't count St Kilda as a one of our best wins lol. They're absolutely crud..

No coincidence that BB played alright in those games where we had blokes like ANB and Langdon playing their natural position.

And beating the previously-undefeated Cats. Which feels like it was in a different season.

Pies were bad first half.  Loading?  Were witches hats for Norf training run.  Switched on 2nd half and shot them lame duck that the shinbones are.  We got this.

Yep.

Unfortunately same goes for petty, McAdam, BBB and possibly tmac (I say possibly because tmac has looked in remarkably good nick given he had an interrupted preseason).

Agree, but at least Clarry is have a crack, do you honestly think Petty is?

What would you like her to say ? “We fully back and support our coach and his staff”

Jon Ralph had a red hot crack at her last week on Foxtel's mid week tackle.

He said you never hear from her in the tough times.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
