What about McQualter? Our midfield is a shadow of last year under Yze.

I’ve been thinking this too - I was excited by what McQualter could bring to the team at the start of the year but what I’m seeing from the midfield this year is a shadow of what we’ve come to expect over the last few years

He's delusional as they come.

Shouldn't be let into the club anymore honestly... Delusional at best.

Both clubs boasted 15 players from their respective premiership teams

Howes, Turner, McVee, Kozzi and Rivers are the way forward

Time to build a new team around these blokes

Kozzi is a good player, but the others are all bog average. Rivers needs to wear gloves or something, cause he is a fumble king with zero composure.

Not sure if Goody believes the words coming out of his mouth but he sounds delusional.

All this says is the club isn't being forthcoming in where we're at.

It's called panic.

come on Simon, you forgot to finish the quote.

If u are upset about the loss don’t watch Goodies presser. We evidently improved I must have been watching another game. That right we lost by 92 points last week so I guess in that context he was right

I like their athleticism and their timing and composure will improve with games under their belt

The 190 - 195cm, built for purpose, quick players are the way forward in the next phase of AFL footy (in my humble opinion)

Our crash and contest game is now found out and the physicality of several years is catching up with some of the players

When we lost Gus we lost the soul of the club.
We still have the heart in Maxy but it’s not enough unfortunately.

God I hate the Collingwood chant.

Sad days

Embarrassing how “nice” we are.
What happened to the team that was so hard to play against?

The problem is he does.

A bigger problem....  the club is facilitating it.

Oh stop it, really?

Probably not our best day, but an improvement on last week.
Kicking for goal is like a raffle at the moment. We do the work and do not quite finish it off.

ANB,TMac ,JVR all good.

Not going to be too harsh but I think all things considered a quick handshake and off the ground as fast as possible would have sufficed.

Not sure if anyone else caught the vision.  Moments after another cough up passage play compounded by some feeble efforts the camera swung onto Trac...  he looked "demoralised"   You could see in his eyes, his face...   WTF is going on.  As is he was participating in a bad BAD dream.

Welcome to our world mate.

He was in pain mate.

Well it's coming home to Roost midfield one paced, players lacking football skills by hand and foot,  gameplan is outdated if anybody watches the replay up the ground vision the pies always have players closer to their forward line who unlike us stays high and are unable to get back.

Guys like Sparrow and rivers always try to break tackles lack awareness just play on and kick to nothing. As for Clarry for those comparing him to Flower hang you heads in shame another non thinker who just blazes away or hamballs to players in a worse position with no thought about it, the game was played in panic mode from start to finish.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
