Will be watching this on delay. Cos when the game is being played, my 12yo is playing cricket in Melbourne. Yep, winter cricket, every 2nd Sunday ...

I think the hurricane last year didn’t help 😂

What didn't help was the geniuses in our Brains Trust (sic) who decided to bring in Ben Brown & Grundy on a soaking wet day. It cost us the game & not for the first time.

Very evenly matched with tough assignments all across the ground, and I’m struggling to find a genuine reason why either side should win.
Clutching at straws, but my red and blue heart tells me that our home ground advantage will get us over the line by 7 points.

Just back from France and Portugal. Jet lag had me up at 3am. I’ve had breakfast and read the news, but the game is still 8 hours away. Go Demons.

You better have a nap

Not sure where our goals will come from.

Petty will need to play well and hit the scoreboard.

Not confident at all. Maybe Kozzie to kick a bag.

Edited by leave it to deever

I took a leisurely drive to the game in Alice last year.

I know your real name now....   Rob McKenna. A god of rain and perhaps a good shiraz.  Try Simon Clayfield's, you'll love it.

Oops. Nerves got the better of me.

Go Dees!

SN34

Stop serong, help Max

No umpire 15

We're good

And mcVee on Young

Our starts have been so poor, but we rarely get blown away. If we are even-ish at the end of the first quarter, I reckon  we win. Fritsch, Kozzie and ANB to do the goal kicking damage. Dees by 16.

SeeTravelling by train from Sydney to Goulburn, won't arrive till 3 pm we will have to watch on delay. Those at the game help the boys bring it home.

I’m left wondering why this game wasn’t played during Sir Doug Nicholls round?

There was 2 rounds to factor this in. Yet again another poor fixturing conundrum

Woey jnr as sub again.  Is that six times now !!! FFS.  Might as well send him away to another club.  Give him a full game.  Hunter should be sub imv.

it works, as he can play multiple roles

faith in the footy dept

Well I'll only be ablt to see the first quarter so later on when I come home from work I wnat to see 3 things.

A melbourne win, no injuries and Gold coast have beaten essendon

I've done well to avoid David King for most of tgis season.

I just had a reminder why.

On the fox pre coverage King declares the dees 'have been credited with performances they don't necessarily deserve'

What the flying does that actually mean?

HOW GOOD DID OUR BANNER LOOK!!!

Freo didn’t even have a banner, they had a guard of honour. We had a banner AND a guard of honour. Yeah the Dees!!!

The wet patch on the ground is a worry.
Please no injuries.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
