Langdon and JVR are top INs.

I reckon we have tried with Petty's pre-season during the season and Petty is a goer/skilled but he needs a month of working hard on the track and maybe a half at Casey each week.

Petty's only decent half was against Geelong - but before and since he's looked a fraction of the player from last year due to not having the right prep of a pre-season.

Pretty big game coming up for you. Will you cope?

Probably only two things for sure.

Lever misses due to concussion.

At least one of Brown and Petty is dropped/moved out of the forward line (they combined for 1.2 from 8 disposals and 3 marks. That's not good enough for one of them on their own, let alone both of them).

Presumably JVR replaces the dropped/moved key forward. Tomlinson or Petty for Lever you'd think.

Petty won’t be dropped and may be needed down back. I thought he did ok in the ruck, actually hitting the ball to our mids, which I didn’t see Max doing.

Please reward Woey with starting in the 22. Thought he was amongst out best. Only one of few that looked composed.

He is a better player than Billings for starters.

OUT: BBB   should never get another game.

        Lever (concussion)

       Woey.

IN:  Tomlinson

      JVR

      Langdon

Somehow or other Fullerton needs to be also blooded... dunno how but when I can't even give a 6.5.4.3 vote for that pathetic effort I am in a quandry.

Woey was one of few half decent players and you want to drop him 😮

I’m not a fan of swapping TMac and Petty fwd/back as I think this will be quite disruptive to the backline, but we’ve got to try something different to play Petty into form, and quickly.

Tmac has gone on record to say he can't play forward anymore, as he can no longer jump at the ball after his foot injury.

Our midfield is our number one failure right now. We have to fix that part of our ground as a priority.

also, with lever out next week, we'll need extra cover defensively, so moving petty down back where he's more comfortable makes more sense

it's the mids that are really letting us down tho

sparrow has regressed significantly from what he was, let alone what he promised to be in the wake of the 2021 premiership

Fix midfield (big problem) and Petty down back to cover Lever, JVR in where Petty was.  Either that or bring Tommo in for Lever but not sure how anyone feels about him now, I thought he was decent (Tommo).

I agree with the younger kids, and need Langdon, he was a big out.  Get in Moniz or Seston or Kolt and get them going please we need some proper depth!!!  Out midfield need to go on a corporate retreat or something, stop eating so much of Petraccas cooking it is making you guys sluggish it's obviously too heavy!!

The blowtorch is on the midfield this week.

I don't know what they need to do, whether it's rotate Salo/Rivers or even Woey through there for a different look or just put a firecracker under the old firm's backside but we are quite far off it in that area. 36 inside 50s is appalling.

Andy Moniz Wakefield deserves a chance.

He'd have to play forward because he's decision making and kicking out of defence is less than desirable

Think Rivers has more dash than Salo so i'd prefer that option.

We need more than just extractors/hoofers

Yes, I want to see more experience behind the wheel. Coaches need to do more and take accountability as well.

Personally I'd love Rivers to get more time in the middle, I know he can turn it over but he may just give us that bit of extra bounce energy wise. Have to take risks sometimes and the depth pool is shallow as it is.

We've gotta do something different in there, anything.

Obviously Lever will be out and JVR/Langdon will come in.

I would like to see bigger bodies in the centre. Sparrow and Rivers come to mind. Even JVR could be trialled as a midfielder in the centre clearance at times. We have been using Viney, Salem and Kossie too much in there and are getting bullied. And Oliver and Viney are both a step slower this year. Salem is a shadow of 2021 with no pace or drive. (I thought Salem played ok yesterday, but we are not a top 4 side with him in the midfield.)

Not sure who should come in for Lever. Tomlinson makes sense if there is a slow enough match up. And I am not sure we can we push Rivers into the middle without Lever?

Brown looks cooked.

McAdam was underwhelming, not generating a score from either set shot directly in front (the further one he passed). The lack of forward pressure was an issue for him as well.

Woewodin looks a player without a natural position in our system at AFL level but he has decent form.

I would like to see Hunter get back to form and Windsor given a go at half back, but that might not be this week.

C:  Langdon  Viney  Windsor

HF:  ANB  Fritsch  Kossie

FF:  Chandler  JVR  McAdam

Fol:  Gawn  Oliver  Petracca

Int:  Salem  Sparrow  Hunter  Howes

Woewodin(Sub)

In: Langdon, JVR, Hunter

Out: Lever(inj), Brown, Billings

Petty to def to cover Lever and get a bit of form, give McAdam another go and use he and Fritsch as lead up fwds in a smaller fwd line.

Hunter comes in for some midfield depth and ball use. Langdon and JVR no brainers.

Blind Freddy can see that Petty is all at sea playing as a forward.

He's played 7 games as a forward this year, taking a total of 27 marks, a third of those against the Cats.

He's kicked 2 goals. He played back against the Hawks in round 2 and did well with 9 marks and 12 disposals.

Petty takes Lever's spot and Roo, Langdon and Fullarton come in. Roo does no ruck work. Full time CHF.

No Hunter in my team. Has done little at Casey and not part of our future IMO.

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full
