That quarter will come back to haunt us. Should be up by 5 goals. It's not just the set shots, it's the wastefulness anywhere in the forward half.

Scott is a better coach than Goodwin, wouldn't be surprised to get jumped by Geelong in the third and we won't have enough firepower to respond.

We are on here, straight kicking and we would be 4 goals up

Cats could equally be saying the same thing

Is it only me or does it feel like when Max wins the ruck contest more often than not the ball goes to space or opposition...

Wonder how we can utilise the mammoth ruck we have in Max, not sure if it's a position issue.

Wonderful contest with the worst goal kicking you’ll ever see. This really is anyone’s game.

What about ours.

Ours are expected.

We are doing so much right but not cashing in. The fear from here is that the Cats are capable of putting us away in a quarter whereas we don't have that burst in our arsenal

But we do, we just haven’t converted 🥹

Very quiet half from Petracca.

Welcome to the world of tagging.

Can’t believe it’s taken till now for clubs to put the clamps on him.

I’m not a fan of this new game style. 3-2 goals in a half is not pretty.

We look tentative and safe. If we don’t take on the game we will get smacked in the 2nd half.

The game style isn't the reason we arent scoring though is it? Getting some decent looks.

Chin really struggled in that half.

Needs to pick up his ground ball game and defensive positioning on opponent when we haven't got the ball.

Moniz should be breathing down the neck of Billings or Chin but is being played out of his usual crumbing small forward / pushing up to the middle (at times) role at Casey.

That needs fixing and pronto.

Billings needs to lift his intensity in general.  That part of his game is a long way off this level.

Viney and Koz are flying.

Jack got smashed hard in the neck and head. Betchya nothing happens.

We need to take a breath in front of goals. Such a frenetic pace, it's making us rush up forward I think.

A really fantastic game of footy.

Proud of the boys so far but as @Superunknown said, it's got a bit of the last 2 years finals about it.

Take a breath boys, you can do it.

Surely Trac will have a better second half

Maybe but to be fair if we kicked even a little straighter that’s a 6-7 goal half. Not bad in slippery conditions.

Scott is certainly more proactive. Goody seems to back in ‘the system’ time and again.

I wouldn’t describe our forward line or even attacking game as explosive. Need to get more of it in to our game.

Chin is carrying a leg or ankle injury I'm pretty sure.

Then why do we play him? Haven't the coaches and footy dept learners from past mistakes? Look no further than Clarry.

Disco a very quiet night after last week.

Noticed too that Chin has been quiet the last two games and tonight as well. Hope it's not like last year when he went missing after a strong start.

Trac up fwd as he's being tagged out of it.

Laurie on for Billings.

Other than that it's been a strong effort in a high pressure high stakes game.

Trac being tagged really hurts us because Oliver just isn’t at the same level at the minute. If he was, the opposition would be tagging Oliver instead who handles it far better.

It’s been a quiet year by his standards. Yes in other games he’s getting possessions but he’s no where near his damaging best.

Chin looking like a candidate to be replaced by McAdam if he doesn’t do much more tonight and next Thursday.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
